Full title: "Sonic 2- Hidden Palace Zone Piano"
Here is a piano/electronic cover of the stage BGM Hidden Palace Zone from the 1992 Sega Genesis video game, Sonic 2.
This song is from a stage that was scrapped during the development of Sonic 2.
This is a collaboration between me and John "EspioKaos" Weeks.
MIDI Sequenced by John Weeks. Piano arrangement by Dr. Mack Foxx.
MIDI modified and used with permission. Please note: I do have written permission to post this from John Weeks.
I reply to all reviews so feel free to leave one. :)
Perfect (Just like all your other music) I remember listing to this on the original and I was like ''W hat the hell?'' I really love this. Bro you got talent, Don't forget that.
Yeah. A lot of people, for the longest time, were perplexed by having an unused track in the sound test menu for Sonic 2. It sure took quite some time before information was widely available as to what that track's original intended purpose was. Very glad to see you really liked this tune and thanks for another great review! :)
This reminds me of when I used to play Sonic 2, I looked at sound test and I went few the songs to find my favourites. I found this and listened to it. I didn't know what it was, but I marked it on my paper as "weird song I never heard" and added it's number to my list.
That for me was my number one favourite, now this has made it top the charts of every Sonic song ever.
Awesome! Thank you very much for an excellent review and I'm glad you really enjoyed this tune! ^_^
Because I'm a huge nitpicker at the moment, the drum annoys me. ._. It's weak... just... weak. The snare just sounds off. Not BAD... but off.
As far as the rest of the song... I actually love it. I adore this mix. If that drum, that little, itty bitty bit of a drum was a tad stronger, I'd say this mix would be better than the original. No joke. The piano in this song quite literally blows my mind. I'm enthralled.
... But that DRUM.
Ah. Actually, I was going for a softer drum beat in this track, versus something more pointed and harsh: like the snares in the Electric Kit, Standard Kit 1, Power Kit, Room Kit and Dance Drum Kits my software synth has to offer. The 808/Analog Kit was far too weak, as well. Glad you liked this track nonetheless and thank you very much for another great review. :)
Wow... Just... AWESOME!
I love this song, as I loved it since the first time I heard it, in the Sonic 2 Long Version hack.
It was awesome back then, in its 16-Bit style. But you... Took that 16 bit song and turned into A TRUE MASTERPIECE. Really, this fits Hidden Palace better than the original song. Really, you're kinda... How can I say it... MUSIC GODS (Probably not enough to describe you, anyways).
Resuming, wonderful work on this song, pure awesomeness :D
I'm very happy that you enjoyed this track so much. :) I can't imagine a better compliment to a remade song than saying the remake is better than the original. Thank you very much for the excellent review!
More tracks are in the works and will be posted before long. That much, I can promise. :)
