A short sorrowful piece designed for the game jam last weekend.

Feel free to use in your own game.

I love feedback and interpretations... leave any if you have it. :)

I must say, this is rather dark and hopeless sounding and it gives me a feeling as if you're walking through a ruined city in ashes and rubbish after a hard-fought war, everyone's dead and the sky's all gray from thunder clouds, rain falls and thunder rolls. Nobody's alive anymore or they fled and you're the only one there. A.k.a. the typical gothic thing right? You know that image from some movies I think. Also, it reminds me of games like Age of Empires.
As ''Dark Battle'' would be the song of the war, this might as well be an aftermath theme after the kingdom lost the war and everyone's dead and the kingdom's ruined and destroyed and such.
And I must say.... the violins make the piece pretty powerful and I'm glad there's no chorus, that wouldn't have fit methinks. And the percussion is pretty well done too. I can see you have talent.

samulis responds:

Thanks for the review, Bas. :)

I wanted to design a piece that gave a feeling of dark hopelessness and sorrow to fit the scene of the grandfather dying... I really like how you imagined it fitting in a fallen city scene. :)

LOVE the chord at :13. DOPE percussion. Sweet melodies/harmonies. Good mix. Cool music.

samulis responds:

Thanks, man. I rarely do a violin feature... in this case it was a group of violins. :D
