My little submission for the June NAC - Summer Cheer!

My summer cheer is a bit more laid back.

This was a lot of fun to make.

This song won 1st place in the June NAC! ^_^

Was great. Loved the choice of instruments and the use of strings for that little climax part. However, I couldn't help but feel like it needed another, fuller climax bit near the end. Maybe an accompanying choir or something to go along with the strings.

TheBenjerman responds:

Thanks! I certainly could have added a lot more to this piece but I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. Just playing around with textures for now, I'll throw you guys some more in-depth pieces a bit later.

This song makes the scenario of a wolf pup kind of bumping around the inside of the den discovering new things as it goes along. Thanks for the image

TheBenjerman responds:

Hmm, I wonder what he runs into at 0:43?

Thanks for the review!

5 stars! Well done ^^ And really nice mixing of the piano. I would love to know what you used as plugins.

TheBenjerman responds:

This was made using East West sounds (don't quite remember which ones), the Kontakt library and Alicia's Keys for piano.

Excellent. What really made it work was all the subtle but important touches with the different instruments that say hello and then bow right back out ... the bass pluck here and there, the string chords, piano ... etc.

Only complaint is I didn't like the sound of the instrument that's doing most of the little arpeggiated chords (guitar, I imagine?). Just sounds overly dry and dead. Overall though, couldn't fully detract from the overall pleasantness of the track. Very well done.

TheBenjerman responds:

Thanks for the review! If you're referring to the instrument that played throughout (including during the string section) then yes that was a guitar, I'll look into it.

Thanks again, I appreciate it!

Wow...incredible sound bank. Perfect for bliss or even a sort of contemplating montage. Sounds like the beginning to a Disney/Pixar film. Like a squirrel running through a park to his tree as the opening credits flash about. I enjoy its briefness. It reminds me of a couple of the pieces from Two Steps From Hell's 'The Devil Wears Nada', as well as thousands of other little songs like this that you hear in kids movies. A very pleasant song and wonderful work!

TheBenjerman responds:

Thank you very much Zip! I could see a bit of the "Devil Wears Nada." Thanks for the review!
