So the hunt is on for a beat for the Clabtrap final, I thought I'd throw something together. This took just over an hour, expect MOAR.

I tried to make this is as spooky as the old war-spawn beats and tried to take after Delinquent's Genre of War II by making this beat more of a challenge to flow over with plenty of switch ups and little unexpected glitches.

The way I figure it, this beat should be made in such a way that only a champ can win on it.

Nice job.

Love the atmosphere it creates; the piano and the scratchy bits at 0:43 and 2:30 serve as a great contrast.

Like the little switch-ups in the percussion section. I think you could of mixed it up a little more, but that probably just comes my inner drumset player wanting the rhythm section to be more prevalent.

Overall great job! You ever thought about working in 5/4?

Ahhh thanks man :) It's true, I did consider slicing up the Amen Break further to do some more interesting stuff, but I figured actually in a beat with this many trip ups already, emcees might not appreciate that lol

Thanks for the kind and comprehensive review man :) Hmmmm, 5/4 would definitely be fun, I think I could probably get some next backpack rapper on that, doing all next level lyrical stuff with like 13 syllable multis and palindromes n shit :P Thinking about it, though I'm not sure how i'd write melodically for 5/4. I might just sample some Stravinsky lol.
