A traveler finds and enters an abandoned fortress to discover it's not as empty as it may seem.
Melodically, I enjoyed it. Drums need more punch and like...variation. Very good though.
I completely agree. What drums do you use?
Ahh, another good song! I remember back 2 years ago when I was just starting out in newgrounds with my 8-bit and you and I actually had very similar styles. It has been interesting watching your sounds grow as they have. Keep up the good work and continue to grow ^_^
Compositionally, you're still solid. Good ol' pitch bending keeping me interested. Your snares usually sound pretty dry, though -- try layering it up or something.
3:13 is the best part!
The snare was intentionally like that but it was mostly because it was the only way to make the snare sample sound not-overbearing haha.
I'm really glad you said 3:13 was the best part because I was kinda going for that lol, though the part around 1:31 is my favorite.
Thanks for the review!
What kind of fortress is this?? From the way this sound, I'm imagining a really high tech fortress. Now who would leave this kind of thing to sit and rot? The traveler should Annex. the thing.
Thins kinda remind me of the old megaman games on the nes from the way it this is composed. Btw, the composure is good. It's hard to point out whats good about it, but trust me, it is. What stands out to me is when you used the pitch bending effect in this. Even if its not an effect...idc i still like it.
Hmm....Well nevermind. I was gonna say something else, but I didn't. I''m completely serious too.
Anyway...Keep it up.
First, yes it is a high tech fortress haha. The thing is, it's supposed to be more of a hidden fortress that looks worn down and overgrown until about halfway in, where it's clearly been maintained.
Anyway, thanks for the Megaman comment haha. I guess I've listened to the Megaman 2 soundtrack so much that I've adapted its style somewhat. As for the pitch bending, I used to use a lot more of it in past songs and I'm trying to find the right balance.
Thank you for the review! As always, I'll try to continue to improve with each song I put out.
Respect dude, you r awesome dude.
Thanks man, and thanks for your continued reviews!
