i like this, very unique....good for an animated film or something...great stuff.....makes me want to climb a mountain! Rocky Mountain in Colorado, preferably....dreamy music, thanks...Gailybug.
Some shameless feel good music. :D I've been listening to Video Games Live music, which led me to a CD by Christopher Tin (Civilization IV) called Calling All Dawns, which is a collection of world music in the vein of the Civilization IV theme. What impressed me about it was that it was extremely accessible and yet not entirely predictable- he'd throw in little licks and colors to keep the "I've heard it all before" musicians interested, all without compromising the appeal to a very mainstream audience. Now that my semester is over, the weather is nice and I once again am free to do fun things, the very open and expansive sound of the music really struck a chord with me. It felt very liberating. :) So I thought I'd write something similar and see what happened.
I see a protagonist taking flight for the first time, or perhaps what feels like the first time, and challenging a friend to a race to some distant mountain peaks. At times the music is very grounded as his heart races, and other times the bottom drops out as he glides along effortlessly, taking in the view. Feedback appreciated!!

A fantastic piece. You my friend should be proud. This is a master piece. I'm going to look at your other work. Check back with me and I may have written a short story using this song within a couple of weeks. Yes its that good.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! If you do, let me know!
Really liked the instrumentation and amount of detail put into this one, as NorskeDrittsekk mentioned. Good job
Thanks, I'm glad people noticed the detail, it takes extra time but I think it's worth it!
Very interesting work. I really like the instrument choices and their arrangement. A well flown melody set. You are a very talented and hardworking young man.
This is one of few of the most detailed work I have seen so far on Newgrounds. Well done.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! I am listening to your music now and enjoying it. :)
Very nice, how much did it cost to make this? :D
And how long did it take?
Well it's all synthesized so the only cost was the cost of the computer/software that I use... which altogether cost around 5k... although I didn't pay it all at once, I've been slowly building my setup over the past few years whenever I have the money.
This track I did in one day, which was about 12 hours... sometimes when I get really into a track I lose track of time and just plug away until its finished... which can be a bad thing because sometimes I forget to do things like eat. :p Thanks for voting!
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
