My Entry for the NAC 2012 April Contest, Despisery!

Mostly everyone else was doing something Gothic, and Grungish and whatnot, genres which I suck at, so I decided to do something just a tinge bit Different; A Neurofunk inspired track, based off songs like "Terrible Things - Drumcorps" and "The Tide - Noisia." Both have some amazing sounds in there, and if you like this song, I recommend you listen to those two because they were better done than mine.

Incidentally, if you don't like long buildups, you may want to skip to the 2 minute mark, since that's where the bass drops.

I really did love the ambiance of this.. it reminded me a bit of the future in chrono trigger.. or a tragic spaceship crash onto an industrial-type planet. I feel the despair and misery.. and that post apocalyptic wind is just awesome - you really paint a picture in the mind! I am a huge fan of people who use ambiance properly in a song, as that is something I pride myself for.. and yeah.. I'm liking it dude.. I'm liking it! Maybr have some scurrying sounds in the foreground or something..

I do def. feel the neurofunk inspiredness of it though, and I do feel you coulda gone a bit farther with it even in some parts :)

I also agree with evil-dog that some parts are oversaturated but that's never easy with a mix such as this and that partially boils down to personal preference. I do find the drums suffered as a result of it though - I hate hearing sounds battling for listening control.

Also rofl did you delay a cough? That's hilarious :P

This is very interesting! It suffers from a minor problem on the mixing part, saturated in parts. But I loved the fact that it was soundscape for a while. It was a daring approach for the contest and a pretty fitting one. I loved the feeling it gave although I must say some pads were really overpowering which distracted me from enjoying the effect. I wasn't sure I liked where it went around 2:45 but yeah, other than the saturated mix it's a really nice approach for the theme's contest.
