This is my second submission for the 'Street Fighter: World Warrior Remix Royale' compo hosted by OCRemix.org (Yeah, a bit of a mix flood, I know, even more coming tomorrow :P). For those that don't know, this is a competition similar to others that I've posted, except this time people chose fighters themes that they will mix into their opponent's selected theme. This is a single elimination tournament, so once I get knocked out, no more music will be arranged for the compo.
This time my opponent was using Oni's theme from Street Fighter 4; my theme remains Ryu from Street Fighter 2. I'm quite happy with the turnout of this track - I experimented with some spliced drumset SFX with some nice results, and I've got a nice, gritty, dirty sound to the arrangement overall. It's mighty sexy.

i like it! street fighter, bam!
Glad you liked it... I do find it funny that you didn't go for my Chun Li remix I've got on here, though, considering you're called Chun Li, lol.
Nonetheless, it's always nice to know people are enjoying this track :)

Good pace and drive.
I think that while the bassline for this piece started off just a little too low (too much water in the ears at that stage, which rises to the surface rapidly, draining it away), it certainly rectified quickly. There is a good balance between the rhythm and the melody, with constructive use of bridges, to give variety and a lovely change for the solo in the middle, then the modulation at the end, to take it even further.
Certainly something that I can see included in beat-em-up or racing games, I feel that there's a great scope to take things further here and make similar sounding tracks, either for remixes, or even with a view to making a whole album out of this sort of thing. Keep up the great work!

A nice detailed response - it's always nice to receive one of those from time to time. Thanks for giving this your ear and review, as that's always rare on this site.

This is an incredibly fast sounding track and gets you feeling like you are ready for a battle which makes it all the more intense to listen to. Such a fast beat!!
The drums are the soul of this song I think since it gets everything pumped and ready for a battle with the fast rhythm. Then the techno synth is great and gives a feeling like battling in a facility. Then the other synth seems to sound like it has a filter and echo and reverb effect applied to it. The bass has a nice solid groove to it, nice.
Overall, awesome and pumped up fighting song!!!

The drums... Ah, thank God for license-free sound effects. One of the few non-attribution licensed sound files from Freesound (really, they got some good sounds on there, and some of them can be used for anything you want - perfect for uploading to sites like this one).
Thanks for the review :)

I like this, if I was playing a fighting game and this was the music playing I'd feel pretty pumped.
Well, if you know anyone making a Street Fighter tribute fighting game of sorts you can send them my way ;)
Glad you like it, too.
