Another remake request from Legodude2000... This time it's a rock remake of apxn's "Triple Gear".

Recorded in give or take 5 hours... Spent most of the time trying to figure out the lead synth part... I still don't think it's 100%, but it should be pretty damn close.
I opted to use a synth for the main lead and the intro stabs in this one for 2 reasons:
1: Give the song a little more variety instead of it being all guitars.
2: Gonna be honest, I couldn't play the lead part very well, so it sounded horrible on guitar.

I also made it very loop friendly with a sharp cut off at the end.

Programs/VSTs:
Reaper (Recording/arranging)
FL Studio (MIDI Arrangement for synth)
NI Massive (Stabs)
Toxic Biohazard (Lead Synth)

Back-From-Purgatory responds:

I think it depends on the person, I tried game programming a while back, even bought a couple books on it to try learn... It was totally over my head, where I'm sure a game programmer may think the same about composing music. I have a knack for music, some people have a knack for programming.

Glad you like it!

+1 Star for your honesty
+1 Star for the variety of the song
+1 Star for the overall sound
+1 Star for loopfriendliness ... or however it is spelled :P
-1 Star for the "synthetic" sound ... I don't know how to phrase it correctly, I think that it sounds technical.

Overall, you did a pretty good work on this one. Therefore 4/5 Stars.

Back-From-Purgatory responds:

I was really on the fence about using an actual synth for the lead/intro stuff... I did originally have them both as guitar, but it made the song sound very flat and uninteresting being basically an orgy of guitar parts... So on top of the fact that my playing the lead part made it sound terrible, I figured it'd probably sound better with synth either way.

Of course you can't hear the comparison here, but from what I've heard, this does sound better, even if it makes it sound a bit more "synthetic".

Thanks for the review!
