Because I love me some melodeath. Entry for the metal Mar/Apr Mac12.

A bit of background information for this.

Let's see, two guitar tracks were recorded for this, with sections going from a to h making up for around 18 guitar tracks while bass was recorded all in one take.

As for vocals, the story is a bit funny. I've had two of my wisdom teeth removed a couple of days ago and having the last two removed soon so it was kind of a now or never situation because of the deadline. Anyway, with a crappy dynamic mic at disposal and this shit reverb my room produces, I attempted to growl like I never did before.

Of course, this almost resulted in ripping myself a new asshole (in my mouth). Not only this but my throat began to dry up near the middle of the song so I had to drink some soy juice to produce a bit of phlegm. Towards the end of the song I was on the verge of tears while I gargled blood and soy juice. A true, br00tal experience (I wouldn't recommend it). And I still would re-record the vocals if I could (and get me a good condenser mic).

All recording was done with Reaper.
I'm replacing this with the instrumental version until I can get a better version up

The last bit sounds a bit familiar to me...

But still. It's beautiful. Rock on, brother of the controller!

Thanks mate!

I was just going through the metal music contest listening to the submissions, and came across this. Both instrumentals are good, very well done, I can hear a lot of talent here. The only reason I knocked off a half star was the fact that the vocals, however good, are way too quiet. It makes it sound like you recorded yourself growling over an entirely different instrumental song, if that makes sense. Still pretty damn good.

Braiton responds:

Oh, I know what you mean. The room and equipment I used weren't the best plus the circumstances mentioned in the description didn't help much. My best option was to do one run of the song and then try to present it as best as I could!

Thank you very much for the comment!
