"Reptiles" (2007)

Yet another old one, remastered. This was on an album I recorded in 2007. I've always really liked this song. It reminded me of dinosaurs for some reason, so I called it "Reptiles". Hope you enjoy it (:

I love this song, and all of the different parts. The part at 1:51 completely surprised me, and I think it's also the best part because of it, like the grand finale. Great work, my friend. This is on my top 3 metal songs of newgrounds, congrats and good luck to you!

OrphenFire responds:

Did you mean 2:51? 1:51 was just the second "verse", whereas 2:51 was where the "bridge" started, shifting the focus of the music from the guitar to the piano for a moment, then the guitar solo comes in and dominates. Anyway, I'm really glad you liked the song (:

I like the way this song is built up. The song has good contrasts, and it sounds good overall.
I was just wondering, are you using FL as a DAW for your recorded guitars too? No offense, but that is kinda retarded. Rewire is king.

OrphenFire responds:

Why would I involve a 3rd program when I can achieve everything within one DAW? Thanks for listening.

"I got that specific tone from the FL Slayer, wanted to duplicate it in a real guitar, but it didn't have that digital sound that I liked for some reason."
So, If you want to get the realistic guitar sound for FL, you can use MusicLab's RealStrat guitar plug-in + Guitar rig # (I'm using 4 version).
Like your music, continue doing cool things.

OrphenFire responds:

It wasn't a matter of getting a realistic sound, I get that with my real guitar lol. It was a matter of getting a digital sound that you hear in the very beginning. That sound can't be duplicated perfectly on an actual instrument. The Slayer was the only means to achieve that exact tone and effect.

Beginning bit sounds like FL Slayer. The rest sounds awesome though. I like the transition from heavy guitars to soft guitars.

Yepp. That was an FL Slayer. I got that specific tone from the FL Slayer, wanted to duplicate it in a real guitar, but it didn't have that digital sound that I liked for some reason. So I left it as the Slayer.
