Since I'm turning eighteen soon, I'd like to celebrate by posting this song: a re-written and re-orchestrated version of the first "listenable" song I've ever written.
Back 6 years ago, a friend and I were working on a video game called "Plague." The platform shooting game takes place in a Sci-Fi universe similar to Halo (and the music was heavily influenced by Halo 1 as well.) I decided to try my luck at music composition, because my friend was the graphic designer and we needed music. Through the combination of Anvil Studio and some horribly crappy MIDI instruments, I came up with a bunch of horrible un-listenable material and a little bit of good material for our game. All of the material I deemed good at the time, I compiled into the "Plague Main Title Suite," a 7 minute piece of music showcases all of the game's themes.
While the game never made it out of production, it did do one thing important: It sent me down the road of music composition.
I bring to you my first song ever, on its sixth year anniversary.
(I cut out all of the AWFUL parts, and tried to spice up everything else, but I kept true to the arrangement of the MIDI song.) It contains a good amount of dramatic string/piano material, some techno-hybrid action music, and some epic choral sections.
Hope you like it.
