I love how this ended up sounding. I put stuff through guitar pedals, an old yamaha compressor.. lots of fun.

Dude, this is awesome work here. I gotta say, it is some of the best I heard.

It's given me the inspiration for a song I'm writing lyrics for.

Keep up the awesome work.

First minute sent straight up chills down my spine man. I don't know pedals well enough, but was it the compressor that gave it that really airy vibe? It's the same kinda sound you get out of tape cassette recordings and I love it, just as much as I loved this.

Shit like this sells bro, keep it up! I'm backing this all the way!

Studenets responds:

Yes exactly!
It's the compressor that gave it the slightly crunchy hissy sound.
(Plus I recorded the piano on cassette :P)

Thanks for the kind words, and hope you enjoy my future stuff!

This is deep man. Very soothing and somewhat dark. The only thing I don't like is some parts should have cleaner sounds as the excess distortion distracts from the calm feel. Sill better than most of the modern music these days.

Studenets responds:

Why thank you!
I see what you mean about the distortion. I'm split on it. I understand the whole clean/calm vibe, but for me the distortion was a really pleasing side effect of recording my piano to tape and using an analog delay pedal for the echoes. I guess it makes it feel warm to me. More like summer.

I'm glad you enjoyed it though. Keep an eye out for my new stuff!
