It is time for yet another battle of epic proportions!

Had a hard time mastering this one, so I hope I didn't mess up... I really need some feedback regarding the mastering, so I'd really appreciate it if you guys could help me out with that :)

Anyway, about the song itself. Well, since there is not 'epic battle' genre here, I just put it under 'general rock' instead. Been a while since I last wrote some battle music, so I thought I'd bring out the dusty old box of 'epic ideas' to make this. I'm quite pleased with the result myself, but your opinions are of course the ones that count the most. Please leave a comment if you have some spare time. I read each and every one I get and will resond to every single one as well ;) Thanks!

Fairly interesting details:
Software used: Cubase 5
Tempo in bpm: 180
Time signature: 4/4
Key signatures: A minor(ish)

Well, that's pretty much it... Let the battle begin!

You've captured an epic feeling, good stuff. You get the stars because I like the composition. :)

On the critique side: To be honest, I think you would have been better off with a synth for the lead since the guitar is very unconvincing, especially to someone who's played guitar half their life like myself. The low mids are muddy which make it hard to understand the chords and rhythm guitar, try cutting the bass away above 300hz and cut the guitar away below 200 to 250hz to improve clarity.

EagleGuard responds:

Thanks for the review, MetalRenard! I'm glad you liked the piece as a whole!

Your advice is really good, and other guitarists I know have indeed also mentioned that my guitar "solos" sound a bit too artificial. I hope to get an actual electric guitar in the future, so that I may get a better feel of what is realistically possible for such guitar parts.

Mixing has always been a bit of a struggle for me, so those suggestions are always welcome, thanks!

For some reason when ever I listen to this song, I think of a cut scene where the dude says : This s@#$ ends now! Just epic near impossible final battle beginning. David Vs. Goliath kind of epic. Try it in B minor, it will bring out the guitars more.

EagleGuard responds:

Haha, awesome, thanks! Hm... I never really think that much about the key when I start composing, but perhaps it may be better to invest more time into that in the future... Thanks for the tip!

Great Song, after listening to it I finally overcame to pirate that was bullying me!

EagleGuard responds:

Haha, awesome! Thanks for the review =)

The drums are a bit constant. :( Other than that it is great!

EagleGuard responds:

I know, sorry! D: I'll try to do it differently in future songs =)

Solid work! Enjoying to listen to :D

EagleGuard responds:

Haha, thanks! Glad you enjoyed it =)
