Sup dudes & dudettes!

I've been working on this one for a while. Started it back in October and have been slowly picking at it over time. Spent a large portion of that time working on the build. I don't really have an ear for builds so they're tough and tend to take me a while to get to a place where I'm satisfied with the progression & evolution of the sounds.

When I started the tune, I really wanted a chill & spacey feel so I decided to focus a bit more on the Dub side of Dubstep and gave it a touch of Reggae lovin'. The catcall is my voice, of course, lol. :d

Like always, I made the track solely in Propellerhead Reason 6. I tried out a few different mastering techniques this time to help thicken up and give my sounds more presence. I also tried something fun; by using the drum loop as a gate against a few elements it helped add a nice rhythm to those parts.

As usual, please rate / review / enjoy! :)

You never disappoint man! You are so good at making these tracks it's just unbelievable! This stuff is better than the "professionals" stuff. I say that a lot because it's true. Most the material that the popular people do are just crap because they just don't do it right, but you, you do it perfectly! I need to stop listening or I'll never stop!

Hey man! Its your friend TheAusAmerican! I gotta say you did it again with the fantastic music! But i think the best asset you have is your down to earth personality. By taking the time and reading (and replying) every comment that is left for you just shows how much you truly care for your audience! Keep up the good work bro I know you will go far!

Take care,

TheAusAmerican!

P.S: Would you mind if i used this song in an up coming video?

A solid track man. I enjoy this tune you've put together.
Good casual music, something I can really kick back too.
I really like that ascend that is around 2:30. Really puts a smile on my face.
I'm pretty sure I'll download this an put it on my phone.
More good work :)
Keep doing what you love!

durn responds:

Hehe, yeah, I loved finally putting that ascension in, tied the pieces together nicely. It's actually the same one that's present at other parts (when it's just the chords) but at double-time & double-octave when used during the bridge. Darn tootin', I'll keep at'er. Thanks for the download and the nice review! :D

you know, this could very well be a wake up song for me... that is at least how I clssify it, it starts easy and nice, and then builds a pretty impressive drop, after that is goes well, excellent job, the EQ and levels for all of your samples are great, not too much of anything, I also like the ability you have to take dubstep somewhere that most people don't expect it, I gave a 4 for one reason though, and I see it in all dubstep, repetitiveness... you have one 'verse' then a mellow bridge, and then a second 'verse', I like the song, but just expand on the song, change it up... overall, professionally done, when I start riding my motorcycle, this may be playing in my helmet...

durn responds:

Thanks for the kind review, and I concur about the repetitiveness as I more or less followed the Pop formula but should've definitely added some more to change it up during the repetitions. Whether it's waking up or while riding your motorcycle, thanks for enjoying the tune! :)
