My REAL entry for the NAC of January. This song isn't about anyone in particular. I played all scores myself, with the exception of the drums.

NAC Judging

some of your notes seem.. questionable.. but kudos to that very funkesque feel..

and hahaha.. the vocals

and ROFL you goof hahaha.. just listened to what the vocals actually said hahaha..

overall I gotta say this is a pretty sweet submission - I like how you went with the gritty vocal sound - reminds me of like.. muse.. or NIN. :P

I still can't tell what you're saying in it sometimes though hahaha..

9/10

Funky

I love songs where the message is ambiguous. Then you can interpret it any way you want.
The distortion is a bit much, but you more than make up for it with the bass. What kind of setup do you have? I know when I do DI, I can get clean sounds like that but no power, with an amp it's the exact opposite.

Anyway, nicely done - especially considering time constraints.

TheSandyman responds:

Thanks for the review! I've got an EMU 0404 external sound card, with 2 jack/XLR plugs, which is 200 euro in Belgium, so I assume it'll be about 200 bucks in the US.
And you can get more power out of your bass by boosting his lows in the musicsoftware.

nice

the bass line the defiantly the strongest part of this song. i like the distorted part, reminds me of muse. the solo could use a lil more work. Im not to big on phaser effects....but thats just me. cool song.

Thanks for listening! You're right about the solo, but I just did this in one take. I was actually quite mad for being disqualified with my other song, so I did this one quickly.
