~SW~ The Fire Temple

I got bored. And I entered in a RPG music competition.

The goal was to make a song fitting a fire temple using only 3 instruments. I used a pad, a guitar, and drums. Does it work?

-Enjoy.

A nice experiment

It's always nice to see someone posting a experiment like this, and that it actually works. Although it sounds more like a desert song than a fire temple song, it still sounds pretty nice.

It isn't a top song though, mainly because just three instruments lack the energy to make it a powerful song. Because it's just over a minute and has only two different kinds of parts (a slow and a fast part), it's not really diverse.
It was probably the best choice to make it that short, because you only had three instruments. So mixed feelings about that.

Great job on the looping, by the way. The slow pat at the end matches the slow part at the start. This makes the middle part stand out even more.

Hello! Glad I got another review!

It is difficult to get a lot in a song when it only has 3 instruments. I tried to make it diverse under the circumstances. And for a video game loop, it's actually on the longer end, considering some I've heard. :P

It wasn't meant to have a lot of energy, but rather more of a background rumbling - the actual 'fire' would be in the situation. It's more of an ambient thing, I guess I was trying to do something like the LoZ fire temple - that's what was in my head as I made it.

I'm glad you liked the looping. I worked really hard on that bit.

Thanks for the review!

Good song

The song starts off a bit slow, but after about 30 seconds, when the drums set it, the song gets better. With the guitar effect the song creates some kind of eastern atmosphere, and yes, it would be fitting for a fire temple.

However, the fire wouldn't be huge and burning bright, but it would be only a small glimmering fire, hardly enough to enligh a room.

Now, I'm not saying this song is bad. It's just that I would expect something more... "lively" for a fire temple theme.
On the other hand, I can imagine it's quite hard to get something "lively" done with only three instruments.

I still rate this song 8/10, because I like it, even though the theme "fire temple" doesn't really fit in my opinion.

Hello! Thanks for the review!

I can see how this isn't quite enough for a true "FIRE EVERYWHERE" temple. I was looking for this to be a bit more ambient than other songs.

I'm sorry that you didn't like the slow opening. As I said, I was trying to have it be a bit more ambient.

The limit of 3 instruments was a MAJOR setback, as you can imagine. It is possible to do something lively, just really, really difficult.

Thank you again for the review!
