This is excellent you have a great feeling to this! i REALLY like the slight bluesy feeling you have in the melody this really defines it in my opinion. I feel overall this is a very fitting urban theme. Great job for a random recording! oh and a comment to your author comment, yeah there's some people that like this stuff lol

Firefreezer responds:

Thanks a lot Roy! Maybe I'll record some more in a few weeks. :)
I'd love to meet with my buddy douma and play along with him. He's very good with his guitar.

Great

You have some skills. Recording skills still might need some polishing but yet, your playing makes up for it. Its what it is, overall beautiful composion. 9,5/10

Amazing

For "just a random piano recording" this is a really nice track. It reminds me a bit of some of the chords in the Fresh Aire 2 album. The tunes aren't exactly the same, but both your song and those in the album give me a feel of "progress."

I listened to your test recording because of that comment you made. I'm not an expert, but I can tell you're really working for a sweet-spot in the recording volume. I'm sure you will eventually find that sweet-spot since you make music this good already.

Also wanted to note that your test recording was definitely a little loud, but it seemed like this one was recorded a little too quietly then amplified. It's just a guess, because there's some background hiss that you can really hear if you turn up the volume, and I am so tempted to turn up the volume on this song.

Firefreezer responds:

For me it's not really something special, but this means I still can improve my work. To be honest it just was another test and to me the quality is okay.
Yes, there's a little "hiss" but if I put the mic a bit closer it starts scratching again like in the first recording test.

I just listened to some music from the Fresh Aire 2 album and I really like it!
I'm not so good in playing the left hand but if I bring in something like a solo with my right hand, then nobody notices this.. ; )

Well...the sweet-spot, thats the problem. I don't know anything about recording and there are so many possibilities for microphone-spots on an piano but I'm very satisfied with this quality. I don't want to advertise for myself but if you listen to the "Cellphone Memo" I made...this actually is the real first piano recording I made. And the recording from the 'piano messing' is way better than the memo. That's all I wanted.
Maybe you can give me some tipps on how to record a piano properly? : ]

This recording was not amplified, the "hiss" you can hear is from the microphone itself. If you want you can listen to "The Next Day (Double Rec.)".
I just thought maybe I can play something over it. After I played the 2nd recording I noticed that the volume of this recording is a lot lower than the first one. I used sony vegas to amplify the 2nd recording. Now, if you start the song you can here the *hiss* from the 2nd recording coming in at the start.

I guess I could say that much shorter and easier but english is not my mother tongue. ; )

Anyways, thank you for your review!

nicely done.

Pianos sound really good if you know how to record and use them properly, and this does just that. These piano pieces are really enjoyable to hear and it allows the listener to imagine a lot. I'm hoping too that you will also continue your fruity loops music. It's really awesome to listen to some Dance or Classical Rock when the mood arrives.
Great Work! Hope to hear more. =)

Well written. To be honest I didn't know how to record properly but I think it's just right. I also uploaded an recording test in wich you can hear my "not-knowing-ness". ;)
Atm I really like to record some piano-stuff. I wanted to do this for so long, now I finally have the chance. Of course I won't stop working with FLS. =)
