My first attempt at dubstep. Did I do it right?

I've heard some crazy shit come out of this genre over the past few months, here and elsewhere. I've contemplated for a long time how it's done, and decided to experiment with it a little to see if I could figure it out. I think I've finally got it; program changes! Where separate instances of a certain unnamed and MASSIVEly popular vst are cycled through in an almost random fashion to create crazicoolness.

While this shit isn't nearly on the level with alot of what I hear out there, I'd like to think it's an example of execution that I can use to refine my approach to this...fad genre :P what do you think?

Grooved

This is a pretty interesting sounding piece actually. The song sounds like something you could hear while on a mission. Also kind of makes me think of F-zero GX at the same time when doing the darker and later missions in story mode too. Very cool sounding song though.

I liked the wubs going up when they come in and then going down from time to time. The synth had a slight Eastern feel to it which is perfect here as it makes me think of racing strangely. The bass line was really fun to listen to. The drums were smooth and quite well done here, excellent work.

Overall, great dubstep song, has a cool race feel to it.

Good

I hear a lot of dubstep lately. Mostly I don't like it, but this one had a electric twist to it so I could enjoy it. The kind of 8-bit music at the background starting at 1:04 is a nice addition. In fact, that is what I think is the most enjoyable about this piece of audio.

The start goes on a bit long though. In the first fifty seconds almost all of it sounds like the same loop. A few effects here and there would give the song a bit more power and diversity I think.

The fade out was nice though. It really fits together with the first fifteen seconds, making it a nice loop.

Overall it's not bad, but much of the same thing.
