A little something that might fit your game. Yes, I'm talking to you!

Love this piece

Hey, I'm an aspiring game programmer, and I was wondering if I could use this in one of my upcoming JRPGs. I was thinking about using this to introduce a professor that lives in an abandoned castle

JPRixdorfer responds:

Thank you!
There's no need to ask, everyone! I upload something like that on newgrounds for exactly that purpose! You use it, I'm happy! Just credit me and send me a quick PM with a link to the flash!

Fantastic. Simple, yet great.

I love the progression, the simplicity, the melody, and the disorienting, creepy, yet somehow relaxing feeling it brings on. Not to mention how well it loops. I've voted 5/5 for this song like 10 times, lol, it's just that good :D

JPRixdorfer responds:

Haha, thanks! One can never have enough fives.

It is relaxing and informal, and, at the same time, upsetting and threathening.

You just made a wonderful job, and it also reminds of banjo-kazooie too.

:D whats with the banjo thingy? I hope so much to see it in a (good) flash some day...

Thanks for the review!

Has a familiar feel to it

I could definitely see it in a game. Has a Banjo-Kazooie feel to it. Could see it in a castle themed stage. It's also a good length and loops well, so yeah, if you were going for something that could fit in a game, I'd say you succeeded.

JPRixdorfer responds:

Hm, I never played BK but isn't it a pretty fast paced game? The looping was something I wanted to be very smooth. The only thing not working perfectly there is the small cut of the reverb. I placed a couple of notes in the end that prepare the beginning of the song again. The NG player makes it a bit awkward, but on a seemlessly looping player it will sound nicely.

Thanks for the review!

This is really good! I'm not really sure where the name came from, but it seems to fit... in some way. Everything seems to fit just right with this - a somewhat regal tune that also manages to be a bit silly XD

Well, since you said it'd fit in a game (a view which I wholly agree with), do you think I could use it in one I'm designing right now? I'll give you full credit and everything! It would be great if I could :)

JPRixdorfer responds:

The name: Pretty easy (well, kind of)- The Cembalo (harpsichord) is the center instrument and it's a little like walking around. Cembalo and walking reminded me of Jabberwocky, some kind of fantasy thingamajing, from which I made up Cembawalkie (italian c here = english ch) :D
Silly, yet regal - that's what you get by combining harpsichord and xylophone apparently :)
Of course you are free to use it for your game! That's what this whole thing and I guess the whole Audio Portal is about. As long as I get the credit I will be a happy Rixdorfer!
Cheers and thanks a lot for the review and your nice words! Oh, and send me a PM when your game comes out!
