"Ew."

Baroque. Yucky. Although I disagree with your choice of time period, this was pretty good, even if it is baroque. You're a wonderful composer and I respect your ability to make even my least favorite genre sound pretty good. Wonderful job, although I much prefer your stronger stuff. 10, and a five.

"Goodness..."

You've captured the 18th Century classical touch. An art I have no quite seen in the classical section before, yet it fits the genre much better than any other piece I've ever created or heard from others. There sounds like theres a tambourine in there at one point... reduce the volume on that a lil. I can't really critisize a piece of art I am not familiar with composing, therefor... I tip my hat to you. Perfect. Another MMD 5/5 Approved to you sir.

Author's Response:

Well, there's my percussion capability for you; completely inept!

Writing in a quasi late-Baroque style (with, of course, many romantic and classical influences) was very entertaining, and rather educational insofar as I could familiarize myself with the style.

As per your last two wonderful reviews, thanks a whole lot for the kind words.

"It's good."

date: March 28, 2006

but I don't know. There is something about it that's bothering me and I can't put my finger on it.

4/5

Author's Response:

I'm very unused to this style, I can see why there are some things that might be odd and annoy people. I'll be practicing a bit, and if you ever find out what it is that's bothering you I'd really appreciate it if you sent me an e-mail or left another review telling me what, 'cus I'm always seeking to improve!

Thanks for the review! :)

"What in the world!"

I looked at the score of this song and thought, "2.5? What the heck kind of drugs are they on?"

Excellent, excellent work, as usual, SineQuaNon. Great job.

And now, the review. The melody was wonderful. It swept me into the song immediately and kept me there :)

I suck at telling instruments, but they sounded incredibly good (if not real).

The percussion throughout the song was very well-placed.

The song's progression was very smooth. I have no suggestions there.

It loops very well, which is good, considering it's going to be in an RPG, right?

Anyway, great song. Take a look at my music, and give me some tips. It's not as good as yours, but there's always room for improvement.

5/5 :)

Author's Response:

Thanks, I'll be sure to check out your stuff!

I'll give you this one big tip right now; only submit Wednesday-Friday. When it gets close to Tuesday, the big mean bad 'ol 0 voters come out of their hibernation to wreak havoc upon unsuspecting submissions. My big mistake with this piece was submitting it Tuesday evening, when the A-bot picks its weekly favorites, so it got 0 voted several times.

"Got zero-voted huh?"

date: March 15, 2006

Kick them in the nuts. This is excellent, excellent work. It captures the right mood perfectly. I'm gonna check out more of your stuff very soon, and this one gets an easy 5.

Author's Response:

Yeah, remind me that adding entries late Teusday night is a baaad idea. It got zero voted to hell in about 15 minutes (twice).

Thanks for your kind words. :) I haven't written something jolly in...oh, a looong time? Not to mention baroque style...

Anyhoo, thanks again.
