"All the scary things come out when the lights are killed. May your nightmares be fulfilled"

-Started this project back in July, finally finished. Enjoi!

Start as you mean to go on.

From the feedback scream at the start, through the pounding bass line and the well constructed melody, there is a certain degree of malice to the piece, as if someone was stalking Johnny 5 from Short Circuit in some sort of macabre visage of a horror film gone cheesy.

I think that making it mechanical means that the next place to take this sound would be to explore some of the industrial genre, giving light to certain sounds like pneumatic hammer presses falling in an apocalyptic thumping of a beat - slower and more purposeful, to compliment this style. Of course, there's much more there to choose from, so have a play and see what you could do.

I have to admit that by the time the tune had finished, I felt quite sorry for the screaming robot / computer / automaton, who is inevitably going to die. Certainly a good chase scene.

Tis powerful TONE

I think the start was possibly a bit of overkill as it made me think of a cell phone and then I liked the rest of the song. The rest of the song sounds like an incredibly well done boss battle theme where you fight a really dark yet fast paced boss out to destroy and everything else as well. Very crafty fun song though and I like it a lot too. Kind of makes me think of someone saying "Woo Woo Woo Woo" too for no reason.

The synth sounds very heavy and very quirky at times giving a feel of having to fight your way through the area to beat the boss quickly before they leave the city too. The drums were very cool and I liked them a lot since it was a lot of double bass. I liked the calm part where there were single synth notes playing too.

The drums were really fun to hear though. I hear a slight bass in here too I think and it also sounds quite wonderful. What was the voice saying anyways?

Overall, very cool and powerful feeling boss song.

Psil0 responds:

Hahaha, the voice says my name/newgrounds handle (Psil0).

Also, glad you liked the inclusion of the double bass/metal influenced parts. I wanted this one to be heavier and darker than a lot of DnB you hear elsewhere, so I experimented with the drums a bit. I mean, who says you have to listen to the genre standards?

A little bit too much

I get what you are going for, and although this is a rather powerful submission with a lot of energy; the drums/ bass in this song are way too clippy :(
The melodies are generally good but a bit repetitive, and the drum patterns seem to have wayyy to much kick drum going on epescially @ 1:20 on.

The mixing mastering of this piece is pretty underdone, but with the right changes i'm sure this could be quite a great song

Things to look at:
- The Intro instrument is way too loud, and a bit pitchy
- The drums/ bass seriously need work before this can really be considered a real drum & bass song
- Try to space out your bass melodies a bit more, and make them work with your drums rather than against them

Overall a good effort, but it needs some work

Psil0 responds:

I agree with you (and anyone) that says the mixing needs to be reworked. That probably will be retooled at a later point

As for the drums, the bass, and the melody. None of that is going to change. I prefer very little movement among my parts rhythmically. Your preference might be that, but I like to have a more ambient and drawn out feel. And in no way can I see how the bass and drums are working against each other, if they were intentionally written that way.

While I respect the first half your review, the rest of it is just compositional preference.

Powerful

Insanely powerful song here. I could see this being used in a battle scene, or a cutscene, maybe an ending. Bah i'm ranting on here. Great song. The synths and drums mix so well.

:O this is some good stuff

This sounds great for a horror montage.

I can see a rising, and murder spree, running and terror. This is awesome.

Sounds like something that would go okay with madness stuff. For a moment I thought the opening was going to blow my ears(turtle beach)

Psil0 responds:

I was originally planning to release this for madness day. But yeah, that never quite happened.

Also, thanks for the kind compliments and praise. I definitely agree with the whole horror idea. Well hopefully somebody picks it up for something horror (or madness) related.

-Btw, hope your ears feel awesome hahaha.
