This song has always been in the back of my mind as a project piece; it's melody line was so beautiful along with the harp, but because synthesized vocals were used, it was hard to get past a choppy feel. I decided that while I had some spare time, I would arrange a choral/instrumental rendition that did the piece more justice.
This is written for a Woman's Chorus (SSAA) with two soloists, and an orchestra's string section.

I hope you enjoy it; I certainly enjoyed making it :D

Lyrics:
Ad Idem (Of the same mind)
Ad Infinitum (Without Limit)
In Memoriam (In memory)
Cor Unum (One heart)
Vi et Armis (By force and arms)
Vale (Farewell)

My Latin translations may not be exact, but this was what I was going for:

We share one mind
Time cannot bind us
Remember
The heart we share
Now the enemy arms destroy me
Farewell

So Latin "buffs" forgive me :3

beautiful!

i love this... your voice is incredible! ^_^

being honest, your voice is very soothing, and makes me feel like falling asleep.

...that was a compliment, just to make sure that is clear, i understand that "putting people to sleep" isnt always a good thing when it comes to certain things. >_>

again, lovely voice... hope to hear it more often.

Great Composition

Your arrangement of the different singing parts in the song was really perfect and quite soothing, and added something really special to the original instrumental. Also really impressive singing in general, you've got a lot of talent!

Perfection in form.

Being a huge fan of windwaker, I have been dying to hear your take on "Medli's Awakening" (which is what I believe this is based off, definitely sounds like it to an ExacT) since you announced it (I HAZ TEH PM) and Let me tell you that I am insanely impressed on several levels. The Vocals are spot on with the Actual song, perfectly adapting it to what I have come to call "E-Birdy style" because of your wonderful works.

If I could go into WW and replace "Medli's awakening" with this song, I would. As I said before, the vocals are top notch, the subtle harp in the background doesn't interfere with the choir and the Piano played gives that Zelda feel to the piece as its rare to hear a Zelda melody without piano SOMEWHERE in it.

I love how near the end it builds up to the great climax then ends with the Subtle piano playing the theme's beat. I can also see where you get the title as some might think that somebody died and the song is playing because of it. I know nobody but Laruto herself died (cause shes a ghost during the scene).

Personally, I would have loved to hear a longer finale where it built up for a little longer or when it died down to the final piano solo it picked back up for the big finish from the choir. But I can't complain.

Thank you for such a wonderful Piece, truly one of your best. Now to wait on your Super Mario Galaxy mix. :D

Vocals: 10/10
Harp: 10/10
Piano: 10/10
Length: 10/10
Personal Experience: 10/10
Finale: 9/10
Overall: 59/60 - Why isn't this at the top of the Newgrounds Music Ratings? It deserves it so bad! Along with a job as lead music designer for Nintendo's Zelda team :D

Lol now THAT would be a dream job :D
I would've loved to extend the piece a bit longer as well, but working with it I got a sense of repetition, since the melody line is only a few measures and I didn't want to change too much.
I'm also filled with nostalgia to see you using a format of review similar to the kind I used to use. I should really make a habit of doing that again; I've been so lazy lately.

More works on the horizon--including that Galaxy remix. Hope you'll enjoy them as much as you enjoyed this one ;)
