Wind Waker - Laruto's Lament

This song has always been in the back of my mind as a project piece; it's melody line was so beautiful along with the harp, but because synthesized vocals were used, it was hard to get past a choppy feel. I decided that while I had some spare time, I would arrange a choral/instrumental rendition that did the piece more justice.
This is written for a Woman's Chorus (SSAA) with two soloists, and an orchestra's string section.

I hope you enjoy it; I certainly enjoyed making it :D

Lyrics:
Ad Idem (Of the same mind)
Ad Infinitum (Without Limit)
In Memoriam (In memory)
Cor Unum (One heart)
Vi et Armis (By force and arms)
Vale (Farewell)

My Latin translations may not be exact, but this was what I was going for:

We share one mind
Time cannot bind us
Remember
The heart we share
Now the enemy arms destroy me
Farewell

So Latin "buffs" forgive me :3

This is so beautiful :')

This sounds like it SHOULD be in a Zelda game

I am intrigued by this piece of art. The chorus sounded just as soft, calm and in sync with the original soundtrack itself. It certainly sounds like an improvement of the original version imo.

I don't prefer already instrumental music to have vocal covers, but I feel that this one was certainly one done right.

Where is the bloody repeat button! I want to sleep to this. The melody is accurate, though the lyrics I cannot say are. I will say that even if it is not accurate you did splendidly. I am now following you, and your wonderful music.

VGSongbird responds:

I didn't take Latin scholastically. What I know of it I tried to research on my own, and picked up from my 4 or 5 years in choral programs--so I'm sure it's not perfect.
But thank you for rating it so high anyways! I'm glad you at least enjoyed the sounds.

This is a pure beauty of the combination of a harp and vocals. It feels like forever ever since I last heard this, and now I don't know what to say than this is what I feel in my heart.

VGSongbird responds:

I'm glad to hear it was such a good experience for you. Thank you for leaving a review ^_^
