Woot! Weekly Tops list achieved! Thanks guys!

Was feeling in the mood to create a metal ballad of sorts... Actually, that's a lie, I started out writing a classical piece, and decided I wanted to throw a chugging guitar on top of it instead of a flute or violin... And this is what came out.

Also, I'm sure someone is gonna complain that this isn't metal. Well, suck it up buttercup, it's got a chugging guitar in it, to me, that makes it a metal ballad, we don't have a genre listing for that, so I put it in the closest possible genre, which happens to be Heavy Metal.

Programs/VSTs used:
FL Studio
Miroslav Philharmonik

First few seconds I was thinking, "This is nice :) A bit depressing though" Then the guitar comes in and it changed to, "Heck yeah, this is awesome! Still depressing, but that makes it awesome." The only thing is that I wish it was a bit longer...

Back-From-Purgatory responds:

I've tried doing "Happy music", it's really not my thing, it's not that I can't do it, it's more that it's not my style, I like slow emotional music, and I like writing it even more. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside (Completely ironic, I know).
I always tend to drift to 3 different moods in the majority of my music... Depressing, Dark, and Angry. Some would argue there isn't much of a difference between Depressing and Dark.. And I disagree, although I won't go into it here.

In any case, it will be longer, as I will be doing a part two eventually. Thanks for the review!

One hell of a buildup song

If you use this as the first song on an album and the have the next song a blasting one, that would would make an amazing mix, nice work man, cant wait for more.

Back-From-Purgatory responds:

That's certainly a possibility, I haven't really decided entirely on the theme of one of the two albums I've been working on yet... so you never know!

Keep the good work going

~EpiclyEric saying, good luck, and best of wishes to you.

Back-From-Purgatory responds:

Oh believe me, I never get tired of people letting me know they love my stuff, it's because of my fans and all the awesome comments I get here that I keep writing music. I still have a hard time believing so many people seem to like what I do, because I still feel like an amateur.

In any case, thank you so much for the very touching comment and it makes me very happy that you would like my stuff enough to make such a comment!

you have the highest score/rating (4.76) out of any song i've seen and or listened too.. and you deserve it as well ;) and i agree with Aigis.. it is relaxing to listen to on a loop.

Back-From-Purgatory responds:

And yet I've had songs with a higher score... My song "A Taste of..." was #1 on the site for a while hovering around the 4.9 range before it got bombed into oblivion.

And I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the review!
