Woot! Weekly Tops list achieved! Thanks guys!

Was feeling in the mood to create a metal ballad of sorts... Actually, that's a lie, I started out writing a classical piece, and decided I wanted to throw a chugging guitar on top of it instead of a flute or violin... And this is what came out.

Also, I'm sure someone is gonna complain that this isn't metal. Well, suck it up buttercup, it's got a chugging guitar in it, to me, that makes it a metal ballad, we don't have a genre listing for that, so I put it in the closest possible genre, which happens to be Heavy Metal.

Nice, but shouldn't be with guitars...

To be honest with you, I'd rather see a whole set of flutes and strings instead of the guitars. I don't know, to me it doesn't fit well enough.

But I ain't denying it's a good song; the beginning and the end of this little piece were really cool. Just replace the guitars, in my opinion. I'd carry that soul with classical instruments. :)

Cheers !

It appears people disagree with you, with the whole "People think this is a useless review" verdict... but to tell you the truth, this did actually start out on the mindset you mentioned, and I may actually put up a full orchestral version just for shits and giggles, even though I'm pretty happy with the outcome with the guitars. Doesn't hurt to have a couple versions, would be easy enough for me to replace the guitars with strings and whatnot anyways.

But thanks, glad you enjoyed it regardless!

damn!!!

that piano is a kick in the nuts in a good way dude haha, awesome song well, awesome part 1 haha already in favorites :), like the distortion you use in the guitar and the delay was like the final touch to make it sound perfect but again the piano is the one that deserves the 10, anyway keep on rockin' dude

Back-From-Purgatory responds:

The piano part isn't doing anything special here really, was just something random I had played off the top of my head, and it gave off a real -Them- vibe for me... and as I've mentioned, -Them- is probably one of my favorites of everything I've written, so I took the idea and ran with it, and this is what came out.

And yeah, I created that guitar tone from scratch, crispy sharp distortion panned one side, dark growling distortion panned the other, blends together to make a very nice tone I think.

Thanks for the review!

Thank you

This song was just simply epic. The piano blended amazingly with the guitar and the second guitar that joined in added so much more depth. It felt like no note was out of place, every note having meaning.

Thank you sir, for this marvlous piece of work.

Back-From-Purgatory responds:

I've been trying a lot harder lately to write parts that flow a bit more smoothly into one another as opposed to one thing tending to overpower or overshadow something else, you could call this song an exercise in that aspect.

Thanks for the review!
