Smooth

I really like what you've done here with the constantly shifting jazz chromatics. The choices for instruments are spot on, and the entire piece stays fresh and interesting all the way through. Good job with this one, jazz is one of my weak genres to compose in.

Not much to criticize about this one. The only thing that immediately stands out to me is a rather long fade-out at the end. Maybe shorten the fade, or wrap it up with a little riff or something.

Modulations

Woah. these chord progressions are pretty weird,but they sure do sound cool.i especially like the melody,because it has a very jazzy feel to it,and at the end of the main melody,i like the nice cadenza. i don't really remember what the name of it was,but i think it's either Deceptive Cadence or N.A. Cadence. either way,i like this for sure,because of the calm and smoothness this section of the waltz has. i cant wait to hear the whole thing,if you're going to upload it to newgrounds.

now,there are a few little things i dont like. one of them is the drum beat and set that you used. 1) it sounds too resonant, and 2) you like to use the crash cymbal alot,which kind of kills the chill mood. also,the last chord the piano plays feels out of place alongside the chord progression.

overall,i like this piece,but the few things that are holding it back are simple things that you can easily change,if you get what im trying to get at.

Amazing composition

This is what I like to hear when it comes to jazz. It's not groundbreaking, but it mixes it up and it has something somewhat new to offer.

The composition is great, it has a proper built up track with nice transitions. Though the drum samples aren't the best, that really doesn't matter too much. The melody is really great, and I do like the rhythmics. A nice intro that builds up to the track properly, but I don't like that the outro is fade-out.

Maybe do some more work with dynamics, I heard some, but not a lot.

Relaxing

Kind of makes me think of some parts of Final Fantasy VIII as well. Really soft and calming piece of jazz though, sounds nice.

The piano is really nice and has a sweet sounding melody to it too. The drums are calming and sound incredible as well to me. They kind of brighten up the mood a bit. The bass line is very simple and brings relaxation to the whole tune. It sounds incredibly easing on the ears too.

Overall, has a very nice and soft tone to it that makes you feel good about life. Nice work.

Very relaxing.

And very well-made. I honestly can't find a complaint to throw against it. This is VERY good. Please continue this! I'll list exactly what I like and hope for in the final, 10 minute version.

1: I love the fact that this is actually organized, the outro is similar to the intro, the main part of the song is formatted in ABA (I believe), and the whole thing has a "groove" to it. I hope the whole 10-minute gig will be formatted as well, in a large ABA, instead of having five-six segments that are transitioned, but not formatted.
2: The instruments. They blend together quite well, and just "fit". I don't see any problem with the piano, the instruments all seem pretty realistic.
3: The drums. My only small problem is (yeah, I found something I don't like. :P) that it's not very constant-sounding. It seems to be more random than steady, I know it's a loop, but... still sounds odd and not very consistent. I do think that you have an interesting style with them though, so take this or leave it, it won't ruin the song in any way, in my opinion.

Overall, wonderful work!
