...for the July NAC which is zombie themed.

I borrowed a friend in news broadcasting today. One of the greatest voices ever. Wish I had thought of this before. haha.
He was gracious enough to take a few minutes and record a quick script that I wrote, and he fine tuned.

I didn't use my guitar at all, as I wanted to play off of the news deal, and keep it different. I used my Casio keyboard, Cameron (news voice) and woo... Here come the zombies.

The broadcaster's sounded excellent, and the words he spoke were familiar, and thus effective. I like how you use the recordings to add to the beat (if you will) in the later half. I must say that I think you put one of the recordings on the wrong DSP channel...the one sound bite at 1:35 sticks out like a sore thumb.

The synths are behind a bandpass filter? That must be why they sound so...cheap. The synths are coming out of the radio too, I get it...yea.

Nothing technically jaw-dropping...The production is good, but somewhat average in lieu of the entries to this contest (not a bad thing). But this song could not have fit the contest guidelines any better. The MOST zombie based song in the competition. Belongs at or near the top. Great work.

Thanks man. Sadly, I really wished I had more time. I got this AWESOME broadcast and very little time. I may play with it some more, just to. I did accomplish what I wanted. That one spot does stick out, and I must have thrown it on a different channel. haha. Thanks for picking that out...I'll have to take care of that when I have some time. :)

Awesome vocals and announcement. The background music was also pretty sweet. However, the concept seems to drag on without any climax or progression. It's like an intro that never gets to the actual song. Still a great little thing.

Thanks brother. I agree. I just didn't have the time. I'll probably refine this for it's own good, eventually. Would definitely like your thoughts on my other zombie submission, even it too is short. I only found out about the competition with 2 days to go. haha.

The monologue at the beginning was cool, I just don't know if it was entirely effective for the build-up that the contest was looking for. Though a cool melody was used I feel the instrumentation was week and the drums sounded awfully cheap and canny. Your song was partially effective at following the contest criteria, but not entirely successful. The whole song has the same tempo and it feels a little slow, a slight increase in tempo as the song progressed would have sounded good. 6.0

I think that I accomplished exactly what I wanted to. It took a lot of work to make the drums sound cheap and canny. But they weren't awful. The whole goal, which I think you missed, was to grit the music, and only use it as an ambiance behind the news.

I know this was a contest in MUSIC...but...

I'm actually surprised that this song made it as a finalist, tbh. I wanted to put Cameron in my other submission, but it was full up of stuff.

I didn't follow the criteria for this submission to the letter, but did exactly what I wanted to, with it. In the end I'm positively happy with all the results. And this can serve other purposes. ;)

Cameron did good man, sounded a little corny on the whole "destruction of their or its brain matter". Very creepy. very cool i would love to work on some thing like this with you man!

can i at lest have the vox files.

oh yeah one more thing that snare drum is crispy as fuck!
