Happy weekend, Newgrounds!

It's officially party season in the city and I'm sick as a dog right now. :( Missed a bunch of work this week and then went in despite being still sick and probably infected the whole office. :p Sorry guys!

So, about the tune, kinda sad about the quality restrictions for once, it does sound much better at full 192,000 sound. :( Well, certain parts do, it doesn't affect the core of the song so I'm fine with that. :) Just some of the fancier effects I tried out in my builds were kinda dulled down from their proper glory.

The song is called RAM (Random Access Memory, of course!) because I used a few computer glitch effects (thanks to cfxr, a great free 8-bit sound generator for mac, there's a windows version too called sfxr) and it kinda makes me think of robots. It also seemed suited as a title because while listening to it I get all sorts of different random memories in my head. :d

Made entirely in Propellerhead Reason+Record using a Kings of Kong drum patch (the Linndrum! Fun!) and a slew of sounds from the Retrospective library. Thanks to Jiggery-Pokery.com for those, it's a great refills site for anyone using Propellerhead software. :) It's definitely more dancier than most of my stuff (hence the change in Genre), I even threw in some breaks for ol' time's sake. :D

As usual, please rate / review / enjoy! :)

Nice!!!

I like the experimental sounds and nice rhythm parts!

durn responds:

Aye, was trying out some new methods on this one. Not entirely happy with the results anymore but ya gotta keep learning and evolving so the track's not a total disappointment. :)

great as usal

love the special effects, works in real nice. The song kicks in at just the right time, and most the time theres a good amount of instruments playing (not too many, not to little) and if there isnt enough, the sound from that one thing still makes it great.

Outstanding job :)

durn responds:

Thanks poinl. At first I was really happy with this song due to how it evolves over the track but I'm definitely not as happy now with the quality of the sounds and some of my melodies. I kinda rushed this one out. Ah well, live and learn, eh. :)

Durn my friend,

I think you know that you don't have to apologize for your music, simply put, it's as epic as it gets while retaining your unique Durn- ish style. Whenever I listen to this music, my memories of school and vacation pop up like crazy, like working hard to keep awake during class, sleeping like I was in a vegitative state while at home, failing tests, watching TV, (you get my point). In all honesty, I like the randomness as it balances out these memories and the song. Durn, my friend, you're going places!

Haha, thanks for the review, Autoslayer. :) I need to find someone to properly master my tracks so I feel confident enough to approach a label. Until then, I won't be going far. :D

You need more attention

Your music is quite professional AND unique, loved the effects. I felt the cymbals we a bit loud. Loved the breaks. groovy. :P

durn responds:

You're right on every count! ;) I turned down the volume on the hats and it sounds much better now. Thanks for noticing! :)
