This isn't a work in progress.

So, this is a (now miscellaneous, maybe witch house?) version (by my standards) of White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane.

Anyways... hope you enjoy :).

Nice work!

I love the pyschadelich feel and the song came out beautifully. I might be using this in one of my flashes if its okay with you. Keep up the good work

Thanks, and that'd be awesome! Just send me a PM about it if you're serious.

A Wonderful Song - Dubstep Regardless!

Admittedly the vocals do sound a bit "amateurish" - but you pointed that out yourself. Even then the effects used on them are great. The song starts off a little iffy, but really manages to get into the swing of things, especially near the end of it. And yes, I would classify this as dubstep. Most people think of dubstep in extremely specific terms - it has to have a certain drum pattern, a certain "wobble" style. But in truth dubstep is a really diverse genre and many tracks have no wobble whatsoever! Besides, this track has a certain intensity to it that more than makes up for its distance from the more popular styles. Incidentally, what attracted me to it in the first place was my mistaking the "WiP" for "VIP". Many jungle (or drum and bass) artists will release more club-oriented or otherwise differently structured versions of their songs with VIP tacked on to the name. I'd love to hear a jungle version of this!

HotSax responds:

Hey, thanks for the great review :). Yeah, I do need to re-record those vocals pretty badly, I feel like if I wasn't using a Guitar Hero mic to record them they'd sound way better XD.

Yeah, I'm not too good with genre classification :P. Its nice to know that I classified this song at least slightly well.

The funny thing is, I usually make DnB, its just that with this track I decided to try for a new genre, and this is how it turned out. I didnt know about the whole (VIP) thing, though. :P

Thanks for taking the time to review :).

Eh.

Good idea, not the best execution. Some of the sounds seem a tad high. There isn't much bass going on as well as the beat was all over the place. Doesn't sound like dubstep at all to be honest, just lots of noise. Though, evulating this as dubsep I would score it poorly, but just as a song itself, it is very well produced and constructed. Very nice. Keep working on this mate. Actually to give ya heads up. I came out with a dubstep wobble pack full of presets. If you are willing to increase the production of your song I would check em out.

HotSax responds:

Hey, thanks for the review :).

To be honest, I had no idea what to classify this as... which is why it ended up as dubstep :P.

This piece was more me working on my production techniques, and according to you I did at least a decent job, so I'll pat my self on the back for that :P.

I also saw your pack already, but I'd really just wanted to try to create my own wobble bass for this one, mainly for practice. I might give some of your basses a try with the next version.
