Great Mix

Great instrumentation of a fantastic classic, I must say my only complaint is that the repetitions were VERY repetitive... As in, identical. Generally you can add extra oomph to them by changing the volume, distortion, or adding/removing different elements for repetitions to make them sound a little more progressive.

Long post is dang-long...

When I voted yesterday on this submission it was at the bottom of the heavies page. Today, when i came back to check the news on metal I was astonished, my voting power gave your piece enough space to climb the ladder, and now as I write this message this song currently occupies the second position in the ladder of the heavies (I admit it, part of it is my fault because I usually 5 bomb metal pieces that I enjoy ... I don't vote on other genres of music xD ).

To be fairly honest, your piece is good, but it shouldn't be the second best. Artificial Fear Fighting FF7 occupies place number 3 (for now) and it is vastly superior in my opinion. Still, having in mind I am making criticism I might just as well make it constructive.

Your piece has an odd start, that really surprised me at 0:12. A nice kick in from the guitars set the mood perfectly for what was to come and this works as a bonus. However once you enter the melody at 0:23 you just keep repeating it in loop until 0:40. It's 20 seconds of the same set of chords. I mean, they sound nice, but one can get pretty tired to hear them. At 0:45 you start with a hell of a main melody for the guitar and I totally like it. It's not the best guitar melody I've heard (check out Fighting FF7 and Xenogenocide - Quantum Theory Renegade- to check out their awesome guitar melodies) but it's still nice in it's simplicity. You then repeat this melody again at 1:40 without anything new, which is actually not a good idea IMO. The melody then proceeds until 2:30 with a repeating pattern, and we only get something fresh at 3:00 that quickly falls back to your main melody at 3:07.
Then we have the abrupt ending, unexpected and definitely not fitting the mood of the song imo.

Summing it up, the way I see it, you start nicely, then you pick up a set of main melodies that you explore as much as you can, and in the end, when you realize you can't explore them more, you just kill the song abruptly.

I've heard better songs of metal, but this one surely beats the techno-metal wanna-be musics that I am starting to hear with frequency around my glorious Heavy Metal page.

I know I am being harsh on my critics, but that's only because I think that if I point out what's wrong with you, you'll eventually become better. If you still think that I am being unfair, just make a quick memory check and remember that 24hours ago you were being dragged to the infamous 2nd page of the forgotten heavies.

Anyway, I searched your other submission and I see that you want to keep your work only for yourself and your friends. Well, I am no "Mr. Knows-It-All", but I think I speak for all the metal junkies out here that you are doing a colossal mistake. Not sharing your work will impact you in at least 2 negative ways:
1- your band will not gain visibility
2- you will be priving yourself from real criticism that can actually help you improve your work

NG it's not about being in the top10 or even the top50. I've been around here for some time, and let's face it: songs at the top10 and top50 are always changing. You can't expect to have a song there for the rest of your life. I've never seen two different weeks with the same song in the same place.
The way I see it, NG is about you revealing your work to the world, sharing your personal website with your fans or even make money by promoting your albums and events.
I understand it is frustrating sometimes, but if you lock your work away, it will never see the day of light nor the dawn of fame.

Anyway, I went way of the point now ... final classification:
7/10 - IMO, you have some work to do.
4/5 (but I voted 5/5 instead) - IMO, this would be a solid 4/5. But having in mind your position on the ladder, I decided to give you some motivation. I'll hope it doesn't go unnoticed.

Keep on rocking and don't quit trying. You are yet to become alone.

How'd this fall so fast?

This is a good song, I love it. How did this fall so fast in the rankings! Hope it gets back up in at least the top 50.
