Full version of my hardstyle track "Out of the Dark."
I spent way to much time on this.
Honestly, I'm quite sick of it.
I hope you enjoy the tune anyway.

Not too shabby.

Nothing that the others haven't said already.

The transitions assisted in bringing the various rhythms/styles together that would otherwise not coexist. The way you took my VA bit was done in a way I'm surprised. I could be thinking lowly of myself, but that was pretty sweet.

However, the point where the song loops is noticeable. Whether you start from the get-go or make it to the end and loop it, it's noticeable and jarring. Some of the transitions are as well.

I really don't see this as a stand alone song. Maybe a song for a club scene background, but not the defining piece. As mentioned, some places are missing a layer of something. It changes throughout. From about 2:00 to roughly 3:48 is where you nail it.

Also, didn't you say you were going to tag me in your comments for the VA bit?

For the amount of time you became sick of it, it's pulled together nicely.

Dj-Zexus responds:

Hey, thanks for the feedback. ;D
Sorry, I forgot to mention you.
That was my bad. >.<
I'll fix it right now.

As T3chnic Said...

Your kicks are good and hard, but some distortion (Through use of Camel Phat or Tridirt, or something along those lines) would add to their overall effictiveness. And, as T3chnic also said, your synths could be a good deal more powerful. Try adding another layer to them, and perhaps EQing them on separate channels.

I think the only other problem I have of my own is the overall smoothness of the song. The individual parts stand out very well individually but not as a whole. It feels like two or three projects kinda hammered together.

Overall, great composition, transitions aside. (Then again, I might just being too picky. I focus on transitions a lot in my own work. Song progression can make a bad song into a good one.)

Keep it up bro~

Dj-Zexus responds:

Hey, thanks.
Great criticism.
I'll keep all of this in mind for my next track.

Good Job!

It has a good melody, and All the ideas are amazing. The only thing that concerns me is the synths. Also, If you distort your hardstyle kick more, I think it'll sound 10x better. And the lead synth feels too weak. I don't know what DAW your using but once you get the synths down, you're gonna be really damn good. But either way, it doesn't sound bad just those small things that i could critique on. Keep up the good work man.

Hahaha. Thanks, bro. (:
I appreciate the feedback.
Unfortunately, though, I'm no longer working on this track.
I'll keep everything in mind for later tracks. c:
