*This version is a preview and a work in progress. This represents only a half-assed version of the final production and not the fully mixed and master version.*

I kinda decided to wander off of my traditional Progressive House music for a bit and started experimenting a little bit with Dubstep (which I hear is so popular now-a-days haha). This is one of my first attempts at Dubstep and I'm kinda satisfied with the results. With a little LFO rate manipulation and distortion, here is the thing that I managed to poop out of Reason 4 (I haven't upgraded yet :( )

Not sure if I'm going to finish it though. If I have the time, probably with school coming to an end soon, I'll get around to it.

But mainly this is just a little experiment away from producing house music.

-Enjoy this piece of shit if you can, cuz I'm not done mixing and mastering it yet.

*Sample from Life Alert Commercial

PS: I'm still making music, I'm just dragging a lot of ass. Also, follow my ass on
soundcloud.com/orland-bel tran because that's where I put my latest stuff now.

Holy god.

This is fucking beautiful.

Sounds like Mt Eden but a little less boring xD

Fantastic job, finish this so I can delete the preview and add the REAL thing to my favorites.

Needs more womp!

From the sounds of it, its a great start, but like you said, its a work in progress, and you can tell.

The actual tune and melody was great! Really well done, beautiful even. However the base in your distortion is lacking a little bit. When you blast dub, you want the people to feel the dub ,and emerse themselves in it. In that, it was lacking a little bit.

You are totally the man when it comes to production, and I dont want to tell you how to make your music, because its amazing. However if I were to make a suggestion, you can take it or leave it either way. But in addition to the deeper base hits, unexpected drops would be great. Also the snare sounds...directly from fruity loops, which isnt a bad thing but usually your hits are a little more distinct. Any way, I am looking forward to the final product.

I am glad you are trying your hand in dub. I think you are going to kill it once the balls rolling for sure. Keep at it. See you on sound cloud.

I appreciate the suggestions and I will take a lot of them into consideration. I like the idea of unexpected drops, but I'm still trying to figure the structure of the track. And I do have to agree that the bass seems to be a bit lacking. It's still in it's experimental stage, but I'll figure out how to make a better bass eventually.

However, about what you said about the snare. I wasn't using a stock snare (I don't even use Fruity Loops, I use Reason haha). It was a real snare sample (manipulated) layered with white noise and processed with tape distortion. I don't know what you meant by it, but I'll just consider what you said as a compliment.

Thanks for contructive feedback.

Already better than 98% of dubstep producers

Chillstep bro. I love this. That wobble is very defined and bold. Love the samples and the melodic chords. This is, truly good dubstep. It's not all aggro-y and attack. Just perfect.
