Oooooooooh SOTN excellent choices. I hope you got more :)

So I hauled out all my recording equipment for one project today, but the project fell through due to schedule conflicts; instead of just lugging it back to my room and putting it away, I decided to brainstorm and mess around with a request I had received a while ago to do the song "Prayer" from Castlevania. This was initially just to test out my equipment, but I liked it so much that I decided to upload it.
Note that all singing is done a Capella, by me, without using auto-tune to maintain the integrity of a choral rendition (the only effect added was some reverb to create the feel of being in a cathedral.)
I hope you enjoy it :D
DISCLAIMER: THIS IS A REMIX; I DO NOT CLAIM TO OWN THIS OR ANY MELODIES FROM THE "CASTLEVANIA" GAMES.
Oooooooooh SOTN excellent choices. I hope you got more :)
Someone requested I remix this one. I actually have never played the game.
It was a bit rushed, but in the end I do still like it quite a bit. soothes and relaxes.
I see what you mean. I probably could have slowed it a bit. Thanks for the advice! :3
How beautiful audio... Congratulations on the good work! ^_^ (Also, I like Castlevania games. One of my favs!)
Thank you ^_^
What BonesUndug22 said. lol He took the words out of my mouth. It is a little too fast for this piece. The quality is great though. Honestly, with more editing, this piece will be way better than the original....even though the pitch of the vocals are already better than the original...as well as the music. Lol
Lol well, I know I'm not revisiting this piece. But I do appreciate the feedback. ^_^
I liked this as well. I'm very familiar with the original version, and I felt this might have been a little bit too hurried in tempo. I would love to hear this swell up and romanticized. This is a dramatic prayer, not to be hurried.
Also, the addition of major chords felt a little off to me . I love that you tried experimenting with the prayer, but I felt it should have STAYED with using the off scale it was written in or at least have gone to a minor key at the end. The reason why I say this is because when you have a chant, such as this, it normally stays in key and very drone. I felt your soprano part should have entered a BIT earlier as well, but as you have said in your description, you were just messing around with this.
And please, don't take this review as me trying to say that you did absolutely terrible because that is not the case. I loved this one very much. I just hear different things going for this.
Overall, very very nice. Theoretically and aurally, everything fits and sounds good.
Actually, this review thrills me--even though it's not a 5. You clearly have a deep understanding of choral music. Thank you for taking the time to review this piece. I hope to do better justice in the future for you! ^_^
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
