The Arcadia of my youth is basically a metaphor for electronic music. The EDM Culture and music has always been my home, ever since I was young. Listing to old-school tracks by Roni Size or Adam F, to new tracks by Netsky or High Contrast. A lot of music these days is written in such a cookie cutter way, people think if they can't pull of that specific bass or Hoover-synth sound, then it's pointless to produce. You don't have to be all about the "Holy Grail" Neurofunk-style bass, we can still kick it old-school. Drum & Bass is split in two directions these days, it's either Liquid Funk or Neurofunk... no more love for the good old ways.
Well here's a tribute to the old-school, the Roni Size breaks and Goldie-style bass. This is Above Arcadia, it's beyond my youth yet still roams the skies.

Lol. Lounge breaks
At least, that's what I'd call them. This is well made, definitely. Very nice work on the piano, there. A nice, minimal beat to accompany it.
Lounge breaks ftw!

check mine's so you can see how you can do better :)
That's not bad, I see you know how to automate bass tones. The whole emphasis of this song is to stray away from the complexities of modern-style Drum and Bass and go back to the roots though.

I must say this:
Awesome!!! Your completely right about the neurofunk/liquid funk divide, there is so much use of the neurobass, and we have forgotten the old gems... Couple of years ago i discovered some older DnB songs, and they are so good, so well produced so they dont give you a headache after 30 mins on full bass :D (One of my favourites is Drifter - Deeper Love)
Anyway your song is very nice, remindes of the oldies... Im currently thinking of dropping the strive for the neurobass thingy and create something smoother :)
