Nothing could have been a better birthday present than having my sons ask me if they could make a song with daddy, after school today. "Can we jam?". For sure!! This is my son Brandon on keys. haha. He's been playing for a couple months, no "actual" training. Just by ear. He can play a bunch of songs.

Also, excuse the crude drums. We were jamming, and they were the drums from my pod x3...more a metronome than drums.

Anyways, enjoy me and my son.

the bad thing is that in the future when he becomes a badass famous keyboard player,he'll never get the chicks unless he's like enslaved's key player and sings too.
but shouldn't he get lessons to learn the theory?i think he's good at it without lessons anyways

He learned smoke on the water a while ago too. That's where you start.

A music teacher told me once, that lessons in theory etc would distract the ability to play by ear.
Develop the ear playing...when you hunger for more, slowly learn more...Feed when hungry. Do not feed just because you can eat. Or something. I'll use that on my one kid. The other has no ear for music at all...but can draw like crazy. My littlest has daddy's size...so will just play football or do something MMA related and I can't wait to teach him. :)
