This is my entry for the "April Nac 2011: Uplifting/heavenly"

A boy and his dog

when i was making this track a little scenario came into my mind and it was like this:

" A kid decides to run away from home because he was tired of being abused by his stepfather and his alcoholic mother,he has nowhere to go or to live and he's alone at a big city, rain starts falling from the gray sky, so he runs away to a big park were he can rest under the big trees.

Suddenly the kid notices that there was an abandoned puppy at the edge of the lake, probably one year old. He was really thin. When the dog saw the kid , his tail showed a sign of friendship. The dog would start following him and from now on he is going to be his only friend and protector. Both of them would have to work together to survive the big city and the biggest and most beautiful challenge of all time : life. "

I could go on and keep the story going on but im not a good writer, so i'll leave that to you.

This is a song dedicated to all those persons who love their pets.

Belated NAC Judge Review

Sounds like a farily average uplifting song. Relaxing and soothing. However, I would like to hear a different variation to the chord progression for transitions or something similar. It got boring listening to the same guitar arpeggios for 3 minutes.

kingdom hearts anyone? Thats what initially comes to mind, the song "sanctuary" - personally I find this to be chill.. but once again not heavenly at all - and from me personally I am going to have to dock points from you for that. It gives you more a chilling in mexico on some dusty porch during siesta or on a beach.. like.. destiny islands.. haha.. sorry this sitll reminds me of kingdom hearts haha.. but yeah.. vegging during good times def. I feel for htis - but not heavenly. Still it's a good song.

8/10

An actual guitar! +points for that already! You're really good with it. <3

Great drum sequencing too, I can already feel the love within the first 15 seconds after they kicked in. I think this is a song you really have to get lost into, because it does repeat itself a lot, or if not that, stays within it's comfort zone too much. At least until the 2 minute mark. :)

The guitar 'solo' part is pretty cool, but could have benefited by a bigger buildup to something, well, for the lack of a better word; bigger! :D I'm fairly certain you weren't going for that though. It goes back into familiar territory again and into a breakdown. This is still a really great song to get lost in and just relax! Which, I'm guessing was your point, and as they say I think, you definitely hit home with it!

This is a very 1970's approach to this contest. I love that this doesn't sound all electronic and bass pumping. Your idea is very refreshing, back to real live instrument playing, sadly is unique in this day in age. I respect classics and even the spirit of classic, which this embodies. This implies an uplifting and heavenly feeling with the melody and chord progression. Peace and relaxation are also heavily implied which go very well with the contest criteria as well. Very good job on this. 9.1

Acid-Paradox responds:

Hey man thanks for the review , i remember that you also reviewed "happy song" days ago and i didn't know you were a NAC Judge.
I really don't like to stick only to one genre, i like experimenting with different genres, so yeah i have some variety of songs here.

Thanks

Sounds great

Really enjoy it started out as a soft rock type of song with the guitars playing different beats. One plays the huge long notes while the other plays the small notes. Then you added in the chime which sounds kind of like a door being opening to a store in the 50s or something close to it. Really like how ambient the drums sound as well. Then the bass line comes in soft as well.

The beat as a whole just sounds pretty soft and relaxing.

Overall, calm.
