Electronic - Video Game

Author Comments

"Aikaishiro" is the second video game inspired composition by Matt Hampson of Final Round. It started with the harpsichord intro melody and built upon itself much the same way the song progresses. Each note and beat in the song was mapped entirely by hand with a MIDI synthesizer.

Final Round is a real rock band that plays near Chicago, IL, so check out our full band recordings on our profile, too!

(Despite the icon, this song has nothing to do with Castle Crashers. We just felt it was appropriate to show tribute to a game that's very much like the kinds of games this song was inspired by.)

I kind of laughed at Matts comment there, but I understand where he's coming from on this, zero bombers are one of the biggest nuances on Newgrounds.

I for one think this song is cool. It reminds me of the Castlevania games even though I've never played them. Ever. Go me! :)

Who keeps down-voting my shit?

I keep track of this shit every day, and I know for a fact that songs are largely ignored on Newgrounds until they reach a score of 4.40 or more and hit the Top Rated audio portal list.

That means someone is down-voting this on purpose. So for you, I have 2 things to say:
1) Fuck you
2) Admit you're jealous. This song is took a lot more skill than that techno bullshit that floods the audio portal.

Here's why:
I mean, HOLY SHIT I wrote each individual beat and melody BY HAND after I MADE IT UP IN MY HEAD. I have not and never will use pre-made fills or riffs or anything. I think of original music and then I make it exist. Every riff, every drum fill, EVERYTHING was placed one beat or note at a time. If only I was a lazy songwriter who could just lay a bunch of random ass tracks on top of each other with a back-beat and call it a day. Or worse yet, do all that then add some basic ass synth melody on top and claim it's 100% original just because I made one melody up.

You're not at my fucking level and you never will be. Just enjoy the music.
