My first d&b song. Warning, contains a tempo change, which I found unusual in d&b songs.

Go fruity slicer GO! :D

i find the title of the song verry ftting. the bass is indeed DnB style, and i guess you could say it about the drums to. you got the skills, no doubt, but my tip would be to go outside the fruityloops folder and find yourself some soundfonts! :] just search for it on google or likewise.

the change of tempo was intresting. but i diddnt feel it do much to be honest. i think this music would be perfect for a city scene of some kind. :) good job all in all, keep it up!

Cheers!
As a matter of fact, I AM looking for different samples, but I think my best shot will be to buy a sample CD sometime... Until then, I'll have to cope with standard FL samples and try to play with the FX to make them more unique :)
Thanks for the review,

nice one :D

This would make a great loop in a game or something, seriously, it's very catchy. Is that sliced up vocals in there? And I liked the tempo change, do you use FL Studio? If you do, you must've used live recording, right?

Really nice, I like the crunchy drawn-out snare at the end of each drum measure.

Good job.

DarthPejka responds:

Yeah, it's sliced vocals, the vocals came with FL 5.0, as I have no means of recording whatsoever (no mic), but I thought it'd suit well to randomly slice it to hell. And I put a fast dist to top it :). I do use FL as I said, but I didn't use live recording, in fact, I don't think I ever did :)
Thanks for the review, I'll check out your other stuff as well (as I only did so with a few)

I step up to the challenge

of telling what you did wrong. It is drum and bass, so that puts me at a disadvantage in critisizing you, but I will try my hardest.

For starters the build of the song was very basic, 8 measures of one pattern, then another one is introduced, then so on and so on. You did add fills which is a plus though. The drums sounded nice in all honesty, they were complex but still maintained a beat that was audible and not annoying. The bass might have been the fatal flaw in this song. It doesnt have the listen catchyness required to be played over and over again. The tempo change was nice, but you should have done more with the voices especially in the second part.

Better than what I could have done in this genre. Deserves more than a 2, how bout a 4
(song was a little long)

DarthPejka responds:

Yay, thanks.
Well, the bass, yeah, I need to work on that. I won't re-upload this song though, that's not my style. But I'll try to make future songs of mine more... sophisticated. In case I'll finish these other d&b songs, since there's about 3 other ones, but only a base for them.
So thanks again,
Darth Pejka
