Guitar doesn't quite agree

Just starting off with the soft organ and synth strings really got me feeling happy about this one. I like how the whole piece has a simple drum line throughout, with the toms kicking in to add emphasis.

The saxophones are a great touch, I really like how they harmonize together. I'm thinking the second time through with them you could throw in some synth string so it sounds more variant to the last time they played.

Got scared by the guitar at 3:52, LOL. It seems too harsh, too in-your-face for this gentle, reflective piece. Maybe just go with something softer next time.

Seriously good job on this one, and keep up the good work.

Thanks a lot with the review! About the guitar, well, the guitar I used is a model renowned for the insane amounts of treble it has. I thought it would've been pretty cool to contrast to cool, smooth atmosphere with something that would cut through the mix. It was also the first time I'd ever put live guitars on any of my electronic beat songs.

Feel it

A very good track indeed. The ambience feels great, and I can't put it any other way than SCTE3, mellow.

Loving the melodic intro, only thing that somewhat ruins it for me there is the percussion, which feels a bit too sharp and loud. The tom-toms(?) that come in at about 0.55 sound great, very nice progression of the track.

The synths playing the back really builds up the main melodic track, which sounds great. You did real good on selecting a proper synth and the notes here.

Also not quite sure how I feel about the synths that come in at about 1.30, they don't really work with the ambient feel you've made so far, and sound somewhat off-key at times. Not sure how I feel about the guitar either. It's very well played, but it seems somewhat out of place with the mellow, laidback, relaxed feel of the rest of the song.

A really good track, a fade-out at the outro didn't sound bad and was probably the best thing to do.

Haha thanks.

Mellow

Really enjoy the mellow atmosphere of this piece for the most part. Kind of lulls you into sleeping I guess. However it also kind of reminds me of Resident Evil One as well where I would discover the basement area but could not figure out what to do after that which always made me feel kind of down and sad.

Really loving the ambient long synth notes at play here as they kind of make you feel calm at least. The second synth comes in and tries to help you relax more too. I think you did a mind boggling and pleasing job here. Really liked how the third synth had highly cheery notes and kind of sounded like a sax to me as well.

The drums kind of carry a rhythm that makes you feel as if you might be getting ready to encounter a boss of some sort inside a mansion filled with zombies and other things meant to harm you.

Overall, great piece. Yea it does make me remember Resident Evil, nice.
