This was my FIRST 8-bit song I've ever made. The melodies were made with Magical 8-bit Plug, and the percussive sounds were made with Peach, all used in FL Studio 9.

This was kind of experimental, just a bunch of different melodies. I suppose I could have made it flow a bit more. But any comments/criticism is greatly appreciated, and I hope you enjoy the song!

Real shrill and harsh at points.

That can't be helped much for 8-bit music though, I know. You are great at writing melodies, which seems real rare on Newgrounds, but I'd like to hear some of the melodies developed more before you move on. The constant moving from melody to melody keeps the song from really going anywhere, I feel. Save the extra melodies that are worth saving for other songs and concentrate on three or four. One of the early melodies was brought back at the end, but it really shifted around too much, in my opinion.

DarcX responds:

Yeah, I see what you're saying. As I stated in the description, this was more of an experimental thing than a song. I just wanted to see what different melodies I could come up with, because this was my very first time using the VSTs I used, and my first attempt at anything 8-bit. But thanks for the review and the rating! My next song will definitely be more focused on a general melody.

awesome

some of the abrupt ending kinda puts me off though.
The percussion's beep sounds like a synth to me kinda dosen't do much in terms of the song. I think you shoulda used the "Scratchy" sound a bit more in magical 8-bit plug

DarcX responds:

Yeah, the "snare" I used was too much of a definite pitch, I suppose. I'll have to experiment with that a bit more. Thanks for the review and the rating. I'll be making more! :D

Impressive

Well you're clearly more talented than I am with 8-bit music, most of the time I get carried away and add a bunch of stupid stuff that ruins the song.

Nice job it sounds good :D

DarcX responds:

I do what you just described A LOT. Whenever I make a melody I don't like, I just persevere and delete it. I'll probably listen entirely to what I have at least ten times before a melody pops in my head that fits in.
Thanks for the comment and the rating! :D
