This song is partly a tribute to some of my favourite bands, the influence of Faith No More is quite present in this one. Slap bass, synth strings, messing with time sigs, low smooth vox and rough screaming. Quite an interesting song, I'd say. It's about dying.

Lyrics:

I was looking over my shoulder to see if you were looking back at me
I was looking over my shoulder to see if you were looking back at me

I scare myself sometimes I am on autopilot
You ask me if I wanna try this and that and I say "sure, why not"

Into the new

This dimension amazes me
There is no air, no gravity
Am I hallucinating?
Feels like I'm in the corner of the ceiling
What a feeling
Now you are looking at
My life flashes before your eyes
I'm on the other side of the screen
I know exactly what you feel, is this real?

I was looking over my shoulder to see if you were looking back at me
I was looking over my shoulder to see if you were looking back at me

I get goosebumps and chills 'cause I'm going with the flow
It's my semi-free will, say "go", I say "no", but I go

Into the new

I don't want to let go of this feeling
Stop giving me mouth to mouth
I don't want to come down from the ceiling
Stop giving me electric shocks

For fuck's sake, let me keep this, it's awesome
Stop operating me doctor
Stop reconnecting the wires in my head
Stop and just pronounce me dead

I was looking over my shoulder to see if you were looking back at me
I was looking over my shoulder to see if you were looking back at me
Don't bring me back just to see that she's still mad at me
If I happen to catch my breath again, she will want me dead again

Back to the body
Worm point-of-view
Enter the party
Into the new

FAITH NO MORE fucking rocks

im not to crazy about the vocals however it still fits the song perfectly. still sounds as if your holding back at your voice but it still sounds damn good. the talking lines i wasnt realy feeling try talking as if you were talking actualy talking and not growling. the guitars if you can hook me up with some tabs id realy like to try to learn that and see if i cant fiddle around with it.
great FUCKING song . :P

Excellent 8-)

My goodness is that an awesome beat you have going there. The voice and whole song is just freaking great dude. The vocals sound very grunge like and dark here which is what I was waiting for.

The guitar riff, bass, and your vocals combine and make a beautiful song for a sad world I think. The drums provide the back bone and make this song go really nice. Also you sound like the singer from Pantera which is even better here.

I just have to say that overall, you did a superb job here. Great work dude.

ShanZE responds:

You know, when I was done with the album I thought that this ended up being the very best song of all of them. Afterwards I was having doubts if people liked this song at all because nobody said anything about it at first but now I'm starting to feel I was right about this.

The way I wrote the lyrics to this song was different from my usual methods. I usually write shit down no my cell phone when I get the inspiration but with this one, I was hitting rock bottom in my actual life so I was alone in my apartment and I got as drunk as possible on purpose and wrote down random thoughts that came to my mind. The morning after I collected the individual sentences and combined the best sentences in order to form a storyline. Usually I have the idea from the very start, so working that way was something else.

The Phil Anselmo comparison was pretty cool, that was a first! :D Pantera is awesome, but actually Down is a major influence and I love his vocals in Down, he sounds so confident and smooth and his rasp is awesome. I think they're making a new album this year, can't wait!

Reading this review made me feel pretty good. I know the people of Review Request Club don't give 10's away for nothing and I've been getting awesome reviews with all of my new songs so I think I'm slowly achieving something here. Let's say, a year ago I felt I was a dude who could make some music. Now I feel like an actual musician. It's a good feeling. Thanks for the review!
