I finally fixed MY guitar, so what better way take it for a test drive than with a new song?
Also, this is the first time I experimented with claps or harmonies. I'm so out of key at times, ithurts. Ugh. And it's all lo-fi, too!
But there are no real melodies guitar-ise, so no out of groove stuff.
My friend Ashley wrote the lyrics; I wrote the melody and chords, thus why it sucks. BUT still. .
Ashley:
- This is my song to support those who have or know someone who has been bullied. Bullying is wrong and hurts. It's completely unnecessary and needs to be stopped.
Lyrics
=======
There's a party and
They say we're not invited.
So, let's grab some drinks
And make our own beat
to our indecencies.
Throwing our hands up
For who we are,
Not who we wanna be.
Dancing to the beat
Of what sets us from society.
We're gonna
Love loudly,
Love proudly
There's no room for hate
In this place.
We'll be the light
That makes it all right.
The cops roll in
But don't shut us down.
They say it's not worth it
Cause our imperfections
Are perfect.
Drinking for who we are,
Not who we wanna be.
Falling to the beat
of what sets us from society.
We're gonna
Love loudly,
Love proudly.
There's no room for hate
In this place.
We'll be the light
That makes it all right.
There's bullies at the door
But we don't turn them down
Cause that's not what we're about.
