More bass please

While I feel that this is a good sounding piece, there is a lot of drums, particularly the sounds of you playing on the high hat, without much in the way of bass. Increasing that a little, but not so much that you drown the rest of the track out is a delicate process, so good luck with that.

It was interesting to hear the track end with the understated little "whirr" or a power-down. Perhaps this would sound more final if the track didn't loop, but that's not your fault. The girl that you got for the vocals was good, but I couldn't understand what she was singing, which didn't really prevent the track from going anywhere.

With a little more balancing work on some of the pace in the middle of this track, you'll be well up there with the meat of the Audio Portal musicians. Nobody's perfect, but why should that stop you from trying?

Has potential

I had to reload the page three times before I got this song to start playing, strange.

Anyway, this song has some nice ideas and I think with some more work you can turn this into a pretty good song.

I like the background melodies a lot, especially the very deep bass melody sounds really good.

The vocals and the glitches could use some work, though. At first it's quite funny to hear the "glitch voice" over the deep bass (at 0:24), but later on the song it gets too repetitive. Maybe you can replace this element with something else, or you try experimenting with various pitches of this voice. Might also turn out interesting.

The vocals/voice sounds a bit too generic for me. I know, there are hardly any words sung, but the pitch that voice has... well, I just don't like it.

The ending, even though it is very abrupt, works surprisingly well for this song. I thought: "Well, only 4 seconds left, how can he end this song in a good way now?" when you suddendly pulled this "trick" out of your head. I really like the ending. :)

nice work

enjoyed this, not really my style but i enjoyed it none the less.

the chord progessions you used were nice and fluid, and gave the piece a relaxing feel. and the beeps and plucks carried a nice fluid melodic line that didn't hog too much attention.
The alteration of the hi-hats worked well and stopped the piece from getting tiresome, also the glitches used were fatastic and not over used.
The break downs were well done.

The bass line is a little static, would have been nice to have heard some variation in those parts, but the other parts had plenty of variation so its not a bit issue.
And personally i found the samples in some sections to get a little irritating, mainly where there repating the higher notes such as 00:24 - 00:47

other than that a well recorded and well produced piece.

City in the Sun never gets more fun

hey Naerbu,

--Production--
Very crisp and clear. The assembly of this beat is nice and refreshing, coupled with the tweaked vocal samples and soft synths to provide special relief. You bash on the hihat, and it works mostly, especially when it goes into a slow beat and the harmonics begin to get interesting.

--Listenability--
The glitched vocal quirks make things less boring and more interesting as you go on, which I think was a good choice. Sometimes when you bang on the hi-hats too much it hogs the hi-frequencies.

--Genius--
This is well-put together, with many good points of interest and a smooth and slick sound. The synths create an almost dream-like atmosphere which sounds space-ish. I would like to hear some of more of those slow, peaceful ethereal sections such as the first 20 seconds.

--Flair--
The glitched vocal samples are the centrepiece of this music, which is interesting in a way, because that makes it sound robot-like. It sounds great, because you also show how a robot can be human, with a voice and an opinion.

--Tilt--
It was nice and soulful, with plenty of futuristic flair. You've got most of the technical aspects down-pat, but I would suggest trying out more with the beauty of your music. Because DnB is generally ugly music (well, that's what people like about it), but I would like to hear more clean DnB as you have shown.

Thanks for letting me listen.

--Production-- = 18/20
--Listenability-- = 15/20
--Genius-- = 14/20
--Flair-- = 17/20
--Tilt-- = 13/20
OVERALL SCORE: 77/100
VERDICT: Getting Good! (B+)

Sounds pleasing

The intro sounds fairly pleasing and a bit like an 8-bit retro bass and I like how you chopped the voice to make it sound cool. Sounds kind of like Miku kind of until she starts repeating herself. The voice is very nice though and the glitchy drum sound effects is pretty cool.

Makes me feel very relaxed actually, wonderful piece anyway. Kind of makes me feel like I just wandered into a club of some kind with cool people from everywhere who make similar music and chill together.

The overall beat is very cool and chaotic and I like it, very nice work here.

I actually tend to make more "relaxing" songs than I'd like to lol.

Thank you very much for the review!
