Track 10 - Carol of the Bells
Genre: Dark Horror/Action
Something I did to finish 2010 off with! This is my entry to the Carol of the Bells challenge (link below).
I thought being in the spirit of Christmas it's always fun to make a Xmasy Track. Knowing the original there was no point trying to do a complete remake orchestrally as nothing could ever beat the real sound of the live instruments and choir. I also didnt want to purely rip off an obvious midi file with just replacing instruments. So instead i composed this by ear and have tried to do something different by putting the somewhat upbeat tone of Carol of the Bells on its head hopefully giving it a dramatic horror/action edge.
All in good fun! And gave me a chance to put my 2011 choir setup a whirl which should make a more of an appearance in my tracks from now on.
Merry Xmas everyone, hope you have somewhere snugly to go the Christmas. All the best.

What an unexpected take on this song! You definitely captured that dramatic horror/action edge. Really great job, the bells were excellent.

Very original set.
This track honestly took me by surprise. I had no idea what to expect. And it delivered, it delivered well. The track threw me off completely about what it was going to be. From a silent psychological thriller start to epic booming slasher horror track it almost sounds chaotic yet controlled one. The picture of santa carrying a sack, stained with blood, heads and legs sticking out of it and in the other hand clenching a koskenkorva bottle(booze of finland, and as we all know, santa is from finland :P). Its a great track, its produced well and it doesnt "crackle" from the high volume either. Great stuff, keep it up and keep it coming.
