Ever since I saw the film "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'hoole", I fell in love with not only the movie but the song that Owl City did for it.

So tonight I sat down and spent a good 9.5 hours making this cover, being very picky about how I composed the guitar parts and drum parts (the drums were particularly a pain since I had to use triplet quantizing to give them the syncopation they needed).

This song was originally written and performed by Adam Young (the man behind Owl City). This digital rock cover was composed, mixed, and performed by me.
______

TO THE SKY
(original song by Adam Young of Owl City)
(cover song composed digitally/mixed/and vocals performed by George R. Powell (Setu Firestorm))

Shipwreck in the sea of faces,
There's a dreamy world up there,
Dear friends in higher places,
Carry me away from here,
Travel light let the sun eclipse you,
'Cause your flight is about to leave,
And there's more to this brave adventure,
Than you'd ever believe

Birdseye view,
awake the stars 'cause they're all around you,
Wide eyes will always brighten the blue,
Chase your dreams,
and remember me, speak bravery, cuz
after all those wings will take you, up so high,
So bid the forest a fond goodbye, as you brace the wind and,
Take to the sky

On the hills of lore and wonder,
There's a stormy world up there,
You can't whisper above the thunder,
But you can fly anywhere,
Purple burst of paper birds this,
Picture paints a thousand words,
So take a breath of myth and mystery,
And don't look back!

There's a realm above the trees,
Where the lost are finally found,
Touch your feathers to the breeze,
And leave the ground,

Best song I've heard in a long time!
(Your song, Momentum, is super hard to even sliver in SCGMD4)

w00t!

I LOVED this movie. Never read the books though, now I wished I did.

I still like the original better but I thought that you did an awesome job on this cover. You should do covers more often, if you can get to them that is. :P
