"Blue Monk" is a jazz standard written by Thelonious Monk that has become one of his most enduring tunes.
This is part of my "Jazz Masterclass" project.
This track contains the backing track (with slight reharmonization) and theme (played twice in the beginning and one time in the ending + repeating 3 times the last 4 bars).
Tempo is 84 bpm.
Tonality Bb
Not over squished/ compressed/ limited, so you can record on top on it and add the desired compression.
Track sequenced, performed, recorded and mixed by Mihai Sorohan in 2010.

I love this
This is just such a chill piece of music and I can listen to it for hours, I wish the audio portal and audio submissions had the like feature as well so I could spread this.
Thanks :)

Awesome!
First off, the quality of this recording is awesome.
Second, all the parts are spot on.
Third you rock. :P

Cool
Great trumpet playing! My one issue with this is the background of of that tenor (I think) sax. Seems pretty weak (I know you were going for a very mellow tone there). I think it would have sounded better with just the trumpet solo.
Well, the sax is not real, is made with a VST, so it have a bit less dynamic than a real sax :)
Anyway, not really an important role there, more as a guide line for the people who want to practice on it (it is like this on the backing track that I made originally for practicing).
Thanks for review. Depending on my free time I might take a second look on it and maybe remove the VST sax (or find a real one).

Wonderfull. I wish I had this on a CD.
It's really great. It's not one of those head-bleeding metalmash things we listen to 24 hours a day.
Well, you can download and put it on a CD :)
