Sounds of Promo's and Trailers
Track 07 -With Heart and Shield
Genre: Emotional/Action

Hey Everyone!

This is a custom track made for Isemat. He was looking for a Paladin Warrior track for his Character Edan, which is a balance of crippled Emotions and Heroic Battle.

I struggled to get it sounding right, I added sustain choir, then took it away, tried choir staccatos but it sounded really fake, nothing seemed to help it. So I tried to give it an aggressive mastering process and it sounded like an orchestra playing in a coke can. So in the end. I dont know if I was overworking it, I've played it so many times with super tiny tweakes it was driving me nuts. It's still nowhere near the kind of intensity I want to get to. But hey...practice makes perfect right?

This is just...stunning.

Professionally done. I'd offer criticism, but there is none to give. This sounds like something you would hear out there, and in some ways it's better than what you'd hear out there.

My only issue is that the beginning and ending tunes sound like they should be entirely seperate. While emotionally moving theatrical music usually goes from sullen to action very fast, your two individual pieces are so well-done that they could easily be seperate tunes.

nice job!

Yeah, love this composition. Seem like EWQL is trying as hard as it can to catch up the realistic qualities like Vienna Symphonic Samplers. Hollywood Strings is good, but not that real sounds especially the violin sections.

Amazing... Again!

The percussion was my favorite. I noticed in most of your songs, you have an awesome percussion sound. The choirs also sounded awesome. Almost like "Voices of Passion" from EWQL.
I recently bought EWQL Symphonic Orchestra but haven't been able to make anything because I did know I had to buy a 40$ ilok thingy with it. So know I have to wait longer!

Amazing work. Keep it up.

Hey Jnr, are you using the EWplay edition?

Wow, just wow,

It's like a fusion of Lord of the Rings with 300. Very, very epic, kudos.

Keep making more awesome tracks like this, the world needs you for that. :D

well

I'm enjoying the nice rich texture you make with the pads, choir and deep deep strings. The higher notes float very nicely on top it all. Excellent mood in the intro. When you introduce the "war theme" I have a few problems with sound... the percussion is very detailed, but combined with the brassy tone of some instruments, it all sounds pretty harsh/unpleasant. Totally unlike the intro. From a song-based perspective (disregarding that it's soundtrack), they could well be two separate songs (the split being around 1:47 of course).

Thanks for your comments and crits

You shouldn't however disregard this as a soundtrack when listening to it, because that's what its made as. Not only that, its a Trailer-Score sounding piece, meaning that there is a change, an intentional one. I assure you that the split in the track was planned before I started as some of my more listened and prefered tracks are broken up like this.

Although there is that break, both of parts share the same mystic tragedy in them. Like alot of trailers you see now, alot of them have two or three songs, ive seen some with 4 (like the new harry potter trailer), so its frequent to have these changes in this type of music.
