--Dedicated to MarkySpark, an insightful pianist and composer here on Newgrounds--

Composed with 11 keys on my mac keyboard in Garageband 5, since I dont have the money to buy an actual synthesizer. I always enjoy keeping it simple, however, just as a piano does. Thanks for the inspiration MarkySpark!

Upon a large orange spiral sits a thinking man, pondering of the future events and possibilities that lie before his never ending mind. He looks down below. The sun trickles down the rock, and dances through the large, white clouds where kites fly. Children sit in the massive wheat fields, playing with their golden blimps and imaginary friends. Men walk through the darkened forests so that they may reach their secret garden, or perhaps follow deer into unknown places. Storms form, and the quiet sound of rain washes over the land. He watches the raindrops slide down the leafs of trees and absorb into the gravel below, providing essence and life for the nature around it. Butterflies dance in the rain, while birds bathe in its mist. Children watch the water run down their windows, dreaming of jumping in puddles. They sit on their beds, close their tiny eyes, and begin to dream.

Along the banks of the land lies the ocean, its ripples gliding across the sand. Small crabs hide themselves under the melting ground and rest in safety. Fish nibble on the seaweed as jellyfish let the current carry their strange bodies throughout the world. The blue giant sings in the rain, as tiny drops massage its surface. It lifts up into the air, and sinks back down again, sighing in a wave of emotion. Boats ride along its back, laughing in the wind. Islands sit still, their status unknown. A man with a board in his hand jumps from high in the air, and dives into the world below He rides the water, flipping, and spiraling with its gentle gestures. He slides his hand across its waves, and leaps into the air, holding on tight, and landing with a smooth touch below.

The man watches, and dreams it. He sits upon his rock, piano in hand, and begins to play it. With a small movement of his fingers, he marks the world.

Very good!

What I like about this piece is it's rich imaginery and calmness. I can easily relax to this and let my thoughts fly away like in a dream. I like your story with all the metaphors aswell, maybe you are the only one who knows what they mean.
Keep it up.

Shivers.

I read the story out loud at barely above a whisper, more of a murmur. The sound of my soft gravely voice pieced with the passionate beauty that you've provided made for a story that gave me shivers.

You've come a long way, my friend, keep up the good work.

FatKidWitAJetPak responds:

Haha, thanks man. I have really focused on the imagery / symbolism inside of my tunes in the past few months. I am writing some experimental things right now that don't have any actual rhythm, unlike this song, but fully focus on imagery and fantasy. Once I have a clear understanding of creating that sort of music, I will expand on it and create another ambient song that is like this, but a lot more complex. Glad to see you back on NG.
