I went to a music composition workshop at the University of Missouri- Kansas City. I composed this in two days and didn't finish. A professor sight-read it and recorded it.

I told him to play it slowly and with rubato. I didn't expect it to be NEARLY this slow. Still, it was awesome having this performed and recorded. I plan to finish it eventually, and it will be much more grand.

Hey!
I really loved this song you're really talented man. but i would be very grateful if you could let me know the name of the song in the game "The Illusionist's Dream" it's one of my favorite games and I LOVE the opening song
If you could send it to me it would be just perfect. Anyways, go on and practice your skills I really believe you can become a profesional musician :)

BlazingDragon responds:

The menu song from that game is called "Ambient Evening" and you can find it here on my Newgrounds profile. It was one of my 2008 submissions.

Thank you so much for your encouragement. :D

Hey there!

I think this is definitely one of your strongest pieces. If you think the speed is too slow i think you are wrong. It is exactly the point which gives that enormous gravity to the chords what for my opinion makes the piece so beautiful. The piano sings its never heared lamento - then silence.
Powerful!

Chris

BlazingDragon responds:

I initially thought that this was too slow because it was performed drastically different then I had imagined it, but this tempo has grown on me for it's emotional weight. What you said reminds me of what I thought upon my first hearing of Bernstein conducting Nimrod from Elgar's Enigma Variations. It was incredibly slow, almost half the speed of other performances, but every chord and timbre rung out in a most brilliant manner. It took me quite a while to draw parallels with that and the performance of my own piece.

Thank you for leaving your thoughts on this work Chris!

wow

this is really nice, because of a couple of reasons,

1: It really tels a story
2: playing is really good
3: recording is really good
4: reminds me of martha mier

great job! I got nothing to complain about

5/5, 10/10, download, favourite

BlazingDragon responds:

I'm not familiar with Martha Mier, but I will definitely look her up. Thanks for reviewing! :)

Very beautiful

I'm looking forward to seeing a finished piece. This is just full of amazing transitions and sounds that fulfill my ears.

BlazingDragon responds:

I was a bit worried about the transitions, so that is good to hear. Thank you, kind sir. :)
